Boat fell off my hitch and these caught it. Saved my boat and possibly my life.
I actually had my trailer drop off the ball hitch and these safety cables saved my boat. Ive been hauling boats for 20 years and never had this happen until about 3 months ago. Also just to be correct with my details, when I got these cables, I realized they were a size too small for what I already had on my boat. However, they were a lot less rusty than what I already had installed, so I popped them on looking to buy newer/ bigger ones when I got the chance. Just 4 days later my fancy chrome ball hitch popped off doing 70 mph on the freeway and these caught the full impact of the trailer jerking back and then the boat slammed into the back of my Lexus taking out the back window as I braked hard. The impact into the back of my car was so hard it bent the front Y post on the boat trailer. I had two safty straps on the back of the boat that took the brunt of the forward force thankfully. I was barely able to keep control and there was no sway back and forth on these other than what you would normally expect to happen in a very quick stop. Thankfully no one was injured and I'm amazed I was able to keep control. This is a 3500-pound boat and my max weight to tow with the Lexus is 3500.. Fully loaded this boat is over 4000 pounds. The trailer brakes don't work anymore so it was all Lexus braking to stop this. These safety cables worked perfectly and I hope to never have to have this ever happen again.

Well-made and convenient
I hope I never have to use these cables, but I'm pretty sure that if that time comes, these will handle it well. They are built strong and of good materials. One of the things I really like about them is that they don't drag on the ground or need to be hung up or tucked away when you're not using the trailer. A great concept, well-executed!

Works well for my boat bow tie-down
I use one of these as a backup tie-down for my boat bow, and the other cable to secure my trailer spare tire. Seems a little expensive for this application, but I like the break-strength length and hook.

Best insurance you ever had!
We rebuilt an old (1967) boat trailer to make it accommodate 4 moderate sized kayaks. The rebuild went well and as we were getting to the end I realized that we should probably replace the safety chains since they were the original safety chains. I ordered these and once they arrived I set to installing them. I only had a small 3/8” bolt that would fit the length required but it seemed rather small for this critical linchpin item. So off to the hardware store we went. Found the right sized bolt and installed it correctly. SAFTY FIRST!!! Our first trip out with it we hit a huge pot hole in the road and it caused the safety pint to become loose and the safety latch came loose. This caused the hitch and receiver to become separated. I had not realized that the safety pin was under sized and the major jarring caused us to become detached from the trailer. If it weren’t for the safety chains we would have been in a lot bigger trouble. I was able to get the trailer and truck off the road and was able to determine the damage. Which was minimal due to the safety chains keeping the tong in-line with the truck. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade or update their safety chains.

Safety first
With rusted out cables we were very nervous towing our boat, these really look nice and gave us some peace of mind, they seem well made.

Major improvement
Much better than chains. I see people dragging chains all the time, these don't even come close to the ground yet won't affect turning radius or anything. Install is a breeze and, when you hook it up to your hitch your hands wont get dirty from rusty chains!

Excellent safety cables - work well
Would give these more than 5 stars if i could. Unfortunately I put these to the test the first trip out. I recently picked up an old military trailer. It had a very shady chain attached to a piece of angle bolted on to the tongue. Welded on a heavy duty 1/2 link and attached these cables. Also bought a new Connor hitch pin at the same time for my receiver. Well, that pin either broke or didn't lock and fell out on a short trip to Costco. The receiver hit the ground and these cables were flawless. Wasn't going fast but they kept the trailer in line with the jeep until i could move over to the shoulder. Worked great and there didn't seem to be any damage to the plastic sheathing when everything was sliding around back there.
