Sound quality is good but not great. It misses some beats or voice On and Off. Also sometimes you hear some disturbances. But still for good quality videos the sound is great. And it's wort watching movies on it than on Bluetooth Build quality of the cable is very good. The connectors are very good in quality. You can buy without doubt. It's value for money

Amazing quality and functionality. My Sony soundbar stopped functioning properly with the HDMI and arc setup for some reason and I was almost about to spend another 20-25k on a new soundbar. I decided to give it one last shot by changing the hdmi to a toslink and that fixed everything! The cable is thick and of really good quality. Totally recommended!

I bought this Optical/Toslink Cable to replace my Logitech Z906 6-channel direct input cable and the improvement in sound quality is really huge. The sound quality is much more warmer, there's more bass, more treble and you can hear the voices/vocals much more clearer than the 6-channel direct input cable which sounds flat even with the 24Bits, 192000Hz bitrate set on the Realtek Driver, while the Optical Cable only supports 24Bits, 96000Hz bitrate the sound quality is much more superior than the 6-channel cable that came with the speaker by default. I also bought the 16-Gauge Amazon Basics Speaker Wire along with the Optical Cable so if you are Logitech Z906 5.1 Speaker user looking to replace the Audio Cable, the 16-Gauge Speaker Wire and the Optical Cable would increase the sound quality of your speaker by a lot. I don't have a Sound Card installed but I'm really satisfied with the Sound Quality. Be warned that if you are going to use this cable on a computer you need to set the Realtek Digital Output (Optical) as your Default Device and Default Communication Device if you don't have a Sound Card or you won't hear any sound, it got me scratching my head and I thought the cable might be faulty, it took me 30 mins or 1 hour to figure it out. So I'm leaving this here incase someone run into the same issue as me.

The cable quality from the looks and inhand feel is very good, sturdy. But there is noticeable difference in sound quality with other branded cable...its not bad for normal listening, but i felt like i missed that hifi element when tested with my sk02 dac amp.

First of all, this is a optical fiber cable for digital signal. You don't need to worry about interference though length is matter. A digital signal consist of 1 and 0. Transmitting end sends digital signal (1 and 0) and receiving end receives digital signal and convert into analog signal(i.e sine wave). So, extra shielding not needed here. If you looking for good sound quality then you go for any cheaper option. Quality will be same. Though extra shielding, thick rubber insulation can protect fiber strand from harsh mechanical forces. And this cable has a good thick rubber insulation. One thing I think worth mentioning that TOSLINK is based on S/PDIF(Sony/Philips Digital Interface). It first came in 1983. It is a very old technology for Audio CD PCM streaming. It doesn't support lossless format, due to it's bandwidth limitation. Supported and Non supported formats are listed below Supported PCM Stereo Dolby Digital 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 Non Supported DTS-MA(Master Audio) DTS (Digital Theater Systems) Dolby Atmos DT:X Dolby TrueHD Non supported formats send trough PCM format..If your receiver supports it can be converted to DTS/DD. So, overall the product build quality is good. It has thick rubber insulation. If you looking for sturdy cable then go for it. And if looking for sound quality then go for any cheaper option. I upgraded our 15 year old TV to a new LG C3 when it started failing to turn on. Even though I got a great deal, 3K is more than I normally spend on a TV, so I've held off replacing the receiver that made up the centre of our Home Theater set-up. The challenge though, is that the old set-up had all sources running into the receiver, then out to the TV, so video from TV and the option of sound from the TV speakers or surround from the receiver, depending on what we felt like at the moment. But given the age of the receiver, it doesn't support HDMI 2.1. So, using this same set-up would mean pushing lower quality signals into the new 4K TV, and that would be silly. Most of the time, we just use TV speakers when watching TV or TV shows on streaming apps, but we would use the receiver surround sound when watching movies. This optical cable is giving us that back in a decent way until I upgrade to a HDMI 2.1 receiver. I've just used this to go from the LG C3 to the receiver, and set the TV output to optical when we want the receiver to do the sound. It's not taking full advantage of the source material as optical won't cover the newer codecs, but we at least get a decent 5.1 surround, which is better than the TV speakers. Quality wise, it seems solid, and the connectors fit snuggly in both the TV and the receiver. Sound is clear and the range is good. I can't complain, and the price is good enough to invest in this a short-term solution.

To use with my audio rack I needed a long optical cable. Was a little skeptical about the quality but it came to be really good for the price point!

Very impressed. This items was better made than I thought it would be for the price. Quality product. I needed 15ft run from the TV to an older THX processor/amps for surround. This was installed in conduit and was easy to run from the TV to where the amps are located. I definitely will say this cable was better than I thought from the photo, very chunky but still flexible, nice grips at the terminations. Seems to be transmitting signal fine. Will update if problems.
