Masters of horror Stephen King (The Shining) and George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead) have created a "gripping, creepy, frightening" (L.A. Reader) film that "thrills, shocks and works us over" (Los Angeles Times)! Featuring an "intelligent screenplay and first-rate cast" (The New York Times), including Oscar(r) winner* Timothy Hutton, The DarkHalf will keep you captivated to the chilling end. Horror writer Thad Beaumont (Hutton) hopes to distance himself from his murder novels and from George Stark, the name he has used to anonymously author them. To achieve this, he cooks up a murder of his own: a publicity stunt that should lay Stark to rest forever. But when the people around him are found gruesomely slainand his own fingerprints dot the crime scenesBeaumont is dumbfounded until he learns that Stark has taken on a life of his own and begun a gruesome quest for vengeance! *1980: Supporting Actor, Ordinary People Review: Classic horror - Classic horror at its best , a great film to add to any Horror fan’s collection Review: I didn't know he would be as good as he was in this finely craft suspenceful movie ... - Timothy Hutton has to be an under rated actor. I didn't know he would be as good as he was in this finely craft suspenceful movie in a dual role. Well written and acted with a nod and a wink to other classic movies such as Hitchocks the Birds. Well worth a punt.

"What's going on?" "Murder! Want Some?" 🤣🤣🤣
I liked this adaption of the King book by the late great George A. Romero. I still need to read the book so i imagine this isn't that close like most book to film adaptions ain't but i still enjoyed it a lot. Some of the effects look dated now but when i seen this on cinema years back i thought it had some great effects. Loved the villian character typical of Kings writing and also liked the setting as well. Overall 8/10.

How is this not More Popular?
This is not one of Stephen King's more well known films or books unless you are a big collector...yet somehow i dare say this story is one of the best of his i have ever seen (still want to try the book version). Were it no for films like IT, The Shining and Carrie i think this film would seriously be more well known. It has a dark mix of horror and mystery...not for the squeamish.

Wow
Must watch again and again, a twist a mystery a puzzle. This film is so imaginative that it holds the viewers attention all through the film with surprising ending. It is definitely a must see Steven King story. Timothy Hutton plays a wonderful part as the hunted and the hunter.

Scary film with excellent actor Timothy Hutton
I have read this book years ago and finally I got to watch the film, scary especially the birds... Timothy is brilliant as the writer and can look really mean as the book caracter. My advice see it but maybe not alone...

Faithful representation of the book
Great collaboration between Stephen king and George Romero. Stays true to the book and has some generally scary moments. Loses a star because the passing of time ages some of the characterizations although the special effects have aged well. An early nineties classic

No matter what some king fans say .. it’s been a favourite of mine This writer has two sides of his inner writer personality.one he writes general non gory novels and he writes more grusesome novels as George stark

Thank you, Scream Factory! "The Dark Half" is a vastly underrated movie with a great cast. Orion Pictures went bankrupt during the filming of the movie, which resulted in some hit and miss special effects. "The Dark Half" is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. Prior to this release, it has only been available in a full frame dvd transfer. What we get: *An above average wide-screen transfer *A very informative and entertaining "making of" documentary *Deleted Scenes *Director's Commentary track *Behind the scenes Special Effects footage *Stills Gallery *Theatrical Trailer I just finished watching this excellent release, along with all of the bonus material (other than the director's commentary track.) The transfer looks very good overall, with occasional soft shots and very minor damage. The new uncompressed surround mix sounds fantastic and really showcases the terrific score. Highly

Si leíste el libro de Stephen King, no puedes dejar de ver la película... Como siempre mejor el libro, pero me pareció interesante la manera de reflejar el personaje principal.
