Perfect Fit
I'm not an original owner of my house and I estimated that my driveway lamp light is at least 25 yrs old. The setup of my lamp uses 2 black wires and 2 white wires which I figured is equal to 220 volts. The new whole set lamp I bought from HD uses 1 black wire and 1 white wire which is 110 volts only as described it the manual. Instead of spending additional money for professional electrician to do re-wiring, I decided to return the item to HD and bought this Photo Control thru Amazon. It arrived early and install it in snap. That simple. I just pull-out upward the old worn-out photo control. Locate the 3 old holes and push it down the new Photo control. Tried to twist left or right but no room to wiggle. It said that the arrow must be facing north but the old holes were already set-up for north-facing installation. Voila...it's done. It is working properly for past 3 days now. It turns-on when slightly dark at around 8pm and off as early as 5am San Diego summer time.

Replaced the sensor, But Still Loops On and Off — May be a Deeper Issue
I’ve had a Woods-type outdoor lamp from Home Depot for several years, and it served me well until recently. When the sensor seemed to fail, I found the exact replacement here on Amazon and installed it. Unfortunately, the lamp continued to cycle on and off after dark, just as it had before. The bulb isn’t the problem—it lights up briefly, shuts off, then tries to restart again and again. That suggests the sensor is triggering, but something in the lamp’s startup or internal circuitry may be failing to keep it on. If anyone has encountered this issue and found a solution, I’d love to hear about it. And if the manufacturer is listening, it may be worth looking into whether this is a common failure pattern.

Works perfect
My mercury light wouldn't shut off so I ordered this sensor and a more efficient led corn bulb and changed both. Works as it should now. Good price too.

Worked perfect! Exactly what I needed
I had an old looking street light type light on my barn. It doesn’t have a switch and can only be turned on and off by flipping the breaker. I started leaving it in 24hrs a day so it would be on when I needed it but this wasn’t the best solutions. I climbed up on a ladder to investigate and on the top I found a very old yellowed sensor that looked just like this. I could find any information online about the light so I bought this reasonable prices sensor hoping it would work. I don’t generally Wright review buts it’s been 4 months and I am incredibly happy with this product and hopefully this helps someone else. The only thing you have to look for is the volts and watts match up but other than they appear to be universal.

Works great but be careful....
It does what I need it to do but be careful. I could not find the base it plugs into by the same manufacturer so I bought one thinking, more like hoping, that they would be standard across manufacturers. I was wrong. I got the base first so I got it wired and installed. The base has an arrow pointing north so I made sure it was. When I got this sensor it has a arrow pointing north as well and that when I had a problem. When I plugged it in the sensor was pointing south. I had to make an adjustment to the base so the sensor would point north. With that being my only problem I would still be it again.

Real details enclosed....
I really should get a commission for this..... The incredibly lame listing of this, lacking the important details/pictures needed to make an educated guess on whether this is what you need led me to write this review. So here are some closeups of the part I replaced with this switch. (Sorry, didn't think to take shots of the actual new one, and I'm not going to get the ladder back out) but I am 99% sure it is identical. The writing on the top looked identical, the only thing I didn't do before installing was check the actual part numbers to make sure they matched. But considering it worked as soon as I put it in, I would say it's a match..... And for those confused by the "north" indicator, keep in mind when you plug it in you can turn it, as the arrows on the top indicate. I saw one person in the reviews completely reinstalled the light because when he plugged it in, north wasn't north. YOU CAN TURN IT so it faces north! No need to reinstall!! And by the way, the new one was much more clear, again these are pictures of what I replaced so the plastic has discolored over time and weather, but it works great!

Great product for a great price!
So happy we were able to find this online so that we didn’t have to go shopping for a whole new light and try to re-install it on the post. Was a quick twist off, twist on replacement done over a year ago and the photo cell is still working great.

Better sensor than the original.
Got my old driveway/garage light to actually sense dawn and dusk properly again. Took me longer to get the ladder out than to swap the old sensor out and this one in. Super simple.
