CAP Barbell 60lb Coated Hex Dumbbell Weights New Edition (SDRIS-60)

I ordered these dumbbells and they’ve been great for my home gym setup. They each weigh 60 pounds. And they are black with chrome handles. The build quality feels solid as the heads are durable, and the hex design keeps them from rolling which is a must. They are a nice size without being too big or bulky. The chrome handles have a good amount of knurling, giving a secure grip without being overly aggressive on your hands. They feel well balanced during lifts whether I’m doing presses, rows, or curls. The coating on the heads seems tough and has held up well so far without chipping. They also came well packaged which helped prevent any damage during shipping. I think that these are what you’d expect from a good set of dumbbells that are simple, durable, and reliable for everyday training.

I purchased a pair of 60lb and 80lb dumbbells. They look as good as anything you would find in the gym. The problem comes up with how they feel. One of the 60lb dumbbells weight is distributed unevenly which becomes an issue with certain exercises like chest press. It could potentially be dangerous if the weight is actually compromised and falls off on one side or the other. One of the 80lb feels a little off but not as egregious as the 60lb which rolls in your grip until it settles in the same position facing downward where the weight more centralized. The price and an availability is great, as is the look but the quality control needs improvement before shipping out to customers. I will live with the defect as the logistics or returning would be too much of a headache. I would recommend but just be weary that there’s the potential the weight comes and does not feel right which will always be a nuisance. I will follow up on this review if the something catastrophic happens with the weights structure.

Dumbbell is well made. The rubber smell goes away after a few days. The box will probably be pretty beaten up because cardboard boxes aren't meant to hold 60 lbs!

Good set of dumbbells. Bought two 60lb weights. I read some reviews that said the rubber smell was bad. I mean, it's a rubber dumbbell. Did you expect anything else? It ain't going to be smelling like Tom Ford cologne. After a few days, the smell has gone away anyway. I just figure those people have sensitive noses.
