I recently switched to this probiotic after more than a year of researching, searching, and trying various probiotic strains and products -- including several from a company that sells probiotics based on mood-boosting properties. (It's true, the right probiotic actually WILL lift your mood and ease gut-induced anxiety.) But regardless of mood, I never found the strains or the products that worked just right for me -- until this one. I've battled issues with recurring candida infections as well as SIBO (or IBS) for quite a while, due to overuse of antibiotics following two joint-replacement surgeries and having to take antibiotics every time I visited the dentist for cleaning, etc. I used other Balance One candida products with success -- but never got around to trying their probiotic until recently. My wife has benefited from many aspects of the CandidaDiet.com information, and so when I learned that they had developed a probiotic supplement for re-population of the gut with organisms helpful for battling Candida, we gave it a try. I like that each tablet contains 15 billion positive organisms, and that the tablet is designed to survive the passage through the stomach and actually make it to the intestines where the organisms will live. Even though it is shelf stable, we still store ours in the refrigerator, just in case, since we usually get several bottles at a time. My wife takes one with each meal. My wife is in the later stages of the candida diet program, and although there is no "dramatic" changes taking place as a result of the Balance One, we are fairly confident that her gut is getting populated/maintained with good bacteria. The tablets also contain a small amount of FOS (food) for the good bacteria. I recently had a routine colonoscopy, and after stripping my intestines of everything during the usual awful prep diet and procedure, I was concerned to make sure that my intestines had some positive organisms going back in to help stabilize my gut flora.
