The artwork is solid and does a great job at expressing emotions of the characters well! I love the little details around the achievements and the extra visual comedy it has! If you've read the books its very loyal (so nothing new) but it is well done. Only complaint is that Donut is white here for some reason? I have no idea why they changed that but it is a bit distracting. Review: Beautiful artwork, stays true to the story, characters, and action of the book - It's essentially a beautifully done story board of the first 13 chapters of the first book and that works perfectly. It covers events in enough detail that you don't feel like they left anything significant out, and that's hard to do in a graphic novel of a book. It works as either a standalone graphic novel or as a complement to the book. (But seriously read the books too, and read them first if you can - you'll enjoy the graphic novel a lot more) As a number of people have mentioned, the format is small and some of the display screens show are hard to read. Likely they did this for monetary reasons - so the books wouldn't be too expensive the first run, and that they can sell a larger format later to try to get us to pay for it twice. Some people have complained that Carl isn't depicted as the 'roided up hulk like he is on some of the book covers. In the graphic novel he seems younger and has a more average build. That didn't bother me. It fits the art style, and although described as big in the book (6 ft. 3 in, 230), that's not his defining characteristic and it isn't mentioned that much.
