No model number on black cylinder. Will thismunit work?** A: It should, as long as your heater has a gas and electric combo board. I have a 6 gal ten pin and this worked very well. **Q: Will it work with a gc6aa-10e?** A: Yes.....that's what mine is on my coachman trailer with Dometic board pn 91346. **Q: Replace an atwood 91367 board?** A: Yes it will replace 91367. That's what I replaced with the UIB 64. You simply have to move the jumper from pins 1&2 to 2&3 on the mode selector. Then pug in your 6 pin harness and you're good to go. As you've already anticipated, there was a problem. Seconds before pulling onto the highway I went to fire up the propane side of the water heater so that we would have hot water upon arriving at our campsite and... nothing.Luckily, the electric mode worked, so we had some hot water. (As with most of its type, this water heater recovers much quicker on propane than electric element.)Let me begin by saying that I did a ton of research on this issue. These water heaters are made by Atwood-Dometic, a brand that is the standard across a wide range of makes and models of RV. This one just happens to have been installed in our 2012 Keystone Springdale.According to everything I've seen online and in talking face-to-face talking with other RV owners, it would seem that many of these water heaters were shipped with faulty ignitor boards built in China. For your reference, the first three photos in my review show the old Chinese board with Dometic part number 91346. A conversation with another RV owner revealed that she had had the dealer replace this part multiple times only to have it fail repeatedly. (Each replacement was characterized by a 35-mile one-way trip to the dealer. In fact, the heater had failed so many times that she forced the issue with the dealer, who worked with the RV manufacturer to replace and whole camper!)In steps the solution for my problem -- and maybe yours.The American-made Dinosaur Electronics UIB64 Ignition Board was an exact replacement for the 91346. With a high degree of confidence I ordered this part from Amazon after reading the reviews. In the amount of time it would take to hitch up the trailer, I had the old part removed and the new part installed. The Dinosaur board included mounting screws and the plastic cover to protect the electrical connections. The mounting holes for the old board did not match the ones needed for the new board, but the unit came packaged with two self-drilling screws. The new board was installed within 10 minutes. I went into the camper to turn the water heater on -- it had ignited before I could get back out.A couple of notes: You will need a cordless driver and a small bit set for installation. This board includes a 5 amp automotive style fuse, which implies to me that it's a bit beefier than the Chinese board with its 2 amp fuse. Maybe I'm wrong, it's for sure that I'm no electrical engineer. The Dinosaur also comes with clear instructions for matching the UIB64 with a number of different heaters. These are super easy to follow -- my friend had to make a minor adjustment -- I did not as the board I received came configured to my exact situation.Perhaps most importantly, the Dinosaur board comes with a 3-year warranty which is significantly longer than the OEM.I agree with the reviewer who said the Atwood needs to switch to Dinosaur as its OEM supplier.DO NOT HESITATE to buy this product! Thank God for this community! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A solid replacement for the failure prone stock Ignitor Board *by on Reviewed in the United States December 4, 2018* My 6 months since-new Open Range 5th wheel suffered the same fate as many of the Atwood/Dometic factory ignitor board failures. My particular unit is the Dual AC/Propane model. the propane ignition portion worked a full week before it could no longer spark. The remainder of the heater functioned well. I tried all the factory suggested remedies of pulling and cleaning and reseating connectors, The problem is the poor component quality fo the atwood sealed board.Yes; I could tote my 41 foot long coach to a dealer, wait for the weeks it takes to look at it, and come the the same conclusion, only to get a new board that according to the dealer himself is no less prone to dying than the original. So I just purchase this one based upon the use and reviews of many others in web forums.Time will tell but the board works perfectly, installs quite easily( slightly harder than changing a light bulb) and is clearly documented. I am knowledgeable about electronics and I can see that the components are well made and seem to be made for the job.Note also that Atwood/Domestic refuse to warrant the original board (direct to me the owner) even though its obviously failed internally as built. The factory unit is completely sealed in epoxy, and has only a fuse to service (which is of course not blown) Atwood should take ownership of this issue and handle such claims direct with owners under the warranty period. Requiring dealer service is just.. well... not good customer service.Kudos to Dinosaur for the solution. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such an improvement over the faulty OEM *by on Reviewed in the United States June 11, 2021* I think this took me about 20 minutes to install, and that included dicking around finding the right tools. I have an Atwood 6 gallon water heater (G6a-8e) that was installed about three years ago but has probably been used three times for a total of ten gallons of water. Last year it stopped working. The repair shop diagnosed this as a control board failure and wanted $725 to fix it. Through the EXCELLENT videos at myrvworks.com (I have no affiliation but they are amazing) I became familiar with the part and the functions of the water heater, and was sure I could do this repair myself. The OEM equipment is known to fail, so I liked the 3-year warranty and the fact that this is made in the States. For $125 I have a fully functional water heater and saved $600. All the necessary parts/hardware are included: base plate and screws to affix it to van using existing holes from OEM board, control board, jumpers to allow for the board to be used in several replacement functions (including my 6-pin plug), locking nuts, and cover. Instructions are fine, as long as you know what a jumper is--little reddish metal-lined plastic pieces that connect two of three switches, and you choose either switches 1&2 or 2&3, and this allows for different uses for the board.
