No, they are not inky; very smooth and do not smudge.

I want a ultra fine point 0.5

Good luck trying to find ultra fine point. That's what I was looking for when I bought these. Having said that, these write very well and the line is quite fine - it's very close to the .5 I have in my "normal" pens.
