Review: Nice packing. Excellent product - Nice packing. Excellent product. You may essentially need an appropriate stand / bag and a good quality amplifier to enjoy Review: Hugely Recommended for a Budget Guitar - Man. I have had many cheap Squiers, and while the Classic Vibe series is getting quite good (and pricey) - these Yamahas are nothing to sneeze at. I've always respected the older ones on the secondhand market, but these ones are quite good brand new! I took mine out of the box, and it played perfectly fine. They seem to use decent strings from the factory, and I didn't feel the need to replace them. Action is reasonable and the frets are done quite well. Rolled fretboard edges from the factory! Very impressive. I suppose the only "flaw" I could find is that the electronics are really not that good, which is to be expected at this price point. They're functional, but they're ceramics which lack the clarity of higher-end Alnico pickups. I swapped in some cheap Musiclily Alnico V pickups and put a Gibson humbucker in the bridge position (that I had lying around) and the thing is absolutely perfect now - I would take this thing on a gig. I love mine, I got it with the intention of swapping to a different guitar in the long term, but I think I'm going to keep it. I would seriously recommend one of these over a Squier.

Great entry level guitar
Comfortable, reliable, good sound, good feel, solid construction. Everything works. It costs a little more than some of the other entry level guitars, but it's worth it to not have to worry about the quality of the build or sound.

The perfect guitar for practice or the beginner! Buy some fresh strings though.
I bought this as a secondary guitar so I could easily switch between various tunings. The build quality of the Pacifica is great. It has a good weight to it and sounds great as it's close to that Fender Strat sound that my Ibanez can't reproduce. Feels really nice to play. The fretwork is great, probably on par with my Ibanez RG. It came with strings on it, but they were terrible. They buzzed, turned my finger tips black, and were 9 gauge, so pretty small. I swapped them for some Ernie Ball 10's, and it has played perfectly since. No buzzing or extra noise anywhere. Feels like it should be more expensive than it is, so really great buy for the money.
