It took 6 hours to get 26 degrees below ambient temperature with only the thermometer inside the cooler to check it. It was 76 degrees outside and 50 degrees inside. I would be absolutely satisfied with 40 degrees below ambient temp. I was sorely disappointed, and returned it. I am not sure if it was just defective or not, because if it actuallly works as described, I would try buying it again.
