Scotch-Brite Light Cleansing Hand Pad 7445, 6 in x 9 in, Mild Abrasive Hand Sanding Pad, For Metal, Vinyl, Porcelain and Other Delicate Surfaces, Pack of 20

The new low-volatile organic compound stain&sealer that our painter put onto our redwood deck worked well on the deck areas that receive lots of sunshine (kright-hand side of 1st photo), but did not get absorbed or dry well on the shaded areas (deck in front of red door). This left a glassy-looking, sticky film on the shaded areas. I tried scrubbing with dilute detergent and water, using this white ScotchBrite pad (2nd photo shows both side of pad after use), and the pad gently removed the excess and left good-looking wood (3rd photo). It was pretty easy to tell where the sticky film was, because there was no drag when pulling the pad over the clear areas and there was very palpable drag where the film remained. (No need for solvents or harsh cleaners to remove the film for a complete re-do, which was a great relief)

I highly recommend anything by 3M. It’s one of the best American companies and these fine textured scuff pads are perfect for cleaning the black heel marks off a waxed floor. I install one on my mop and can flip it over to scrub marks then flip it back for mopping.

This pad is great for polishing delicate or lightly tarnished items

Works well to removing scratches in wood and metal.

I use these to remove stubborn bugs from the paint when washing my car. The white pads (7445) are the least abrasive on the paint and do not scratch when used in a soapy solution. Included is a picture of the various grades of Scotch-Brite and all of them are a 6''x9'' dimension. Made in Canada, these are of great quality and this box of 20 will probably last longer than me. Cuts easy with scissors to any size but I like the original size to make it easier to hang onto when doing my car. Have used these for years and a car detailer in my area alerted me to the pads. No complaints.

Works as expected

I make hardwood panels that taxidermist’ mount deer and elk antlers on and I use this scotchbrite material to polish the edges of the panels after I sand them to 320 grit. It works fantastic for that! The only drawback I see is that it doesn’t hold up as well as I would have thought or expected.
