Best cup of coffee I've ever had.
This is fabulous coffee. The flavour is amazing. There is no other coffee that can match it and I have drunk alot of different coffees in my time.

You're probably like me and entered into the search bar "high caffeine coffee" and upon looking at all the options, you go for the ones with the most amount of high reviews, read a few, and order accordingly. I have my staples, but I like the old saying goes, "You don't know what you don't know", so I'm constantly trying out new brands. So you look at Raven's brew and think 'ehhhh...only 800 review? I dunno..." I'm on my 4th order at the time of this writing, giving me a pretty decent sample of quality reliability. I also am writing this review from the perspective of a consumer who has not only a obsessive love affair with coffee, but a high caffeine tolerance, for me to get that charged state, I typically have to consume twice as much as the average person. Boy am I glad I gave this a try. While I confess what I was looking for was something to turbo charge my mental processes for those sluggish days where as a self employed person, I -NEED- to get stuff done, and given my high caffeine tolerance this takes more than standard coffee. The copy on Deadman's Reach suggested I definitely found what I was looking for, but to blunt about my expectations, I figured that it'd likely not taste all that great. I was so very -very- wrong. Deadman's is a *great* tasting dark roast, but it does matter how you brew it. I possess an absurd number of ways to brew coffee and even espresso, but my favorite is pour over. Putting Deadman's through a ordinary coffee drip coffee maker or a Keurig (something I used to be a raving fan of) is like drinking fine wine from a sweaty cowboy boot. It becomes too acidic, loses a great deal of it's flavor depth, coming across more as char than coffee. But with a pour over or even a french press, the flavor is downright sultry, smooth and commanding of attention. Worth noting: I don't drink this every day, I have my other go-to brand for daily use, Deadman's is a combination of need for the higher octane and committing to knocking down important goals AFTER I've had a meditative 20 minutes of intimate savoring of my Deadmans. I'm completely serious, the flavor grabs me and makes the cup something I focus on and savor while pondering what I have to prioritize and absolutely get done. Then, after the last sip...its -ON-!! So does it give you a turbo boost? Let me put it this way, after a cup I get out my Batman cape and get busy. A 2nd cup? Tony Stark's got nothing on me. 3rd cup...sorry can't say, never had more than 2 But the real magic of Deadmans (IMO) is how you get that kind of kick with such sultry, rich flavor. (again method matters). Value: Ok this isn't cheap, at $15 for 12 oz of beans it's totally understandable if you said to yourself "Pfft...too much." However this is a *definite* case of quality over quantity. You won't be drinking this all day, 1 cup for those days you're just dragging tail and you just know your usual morning caffeine fix is not going to cut it... 2 cups on your zombie days. So these 12 oz actually go further because you literally drink less of it, even if you're a religious coffee consumer like I am. This 12 oz bag lasts as long as my 2lb bags do, despite how great it tastes, I hit the Deadman's only 2-3x a week. Each occasion is an event for me, I don't drink this on auto-pilot, I savor the mug as I scheme to take over the world knowing when I'm at the bottom of the cup, it's go time. And as mentioned above, on my 4th bag over a 5 month period. Each has been outstanding in freshness and flavor, the bloom is almost a mushroom cloud. The beans I've bought roast to order aren't any fresher, seriously...this is true coffee snob quality. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

One of the best coffees we've ever tried. It's strong and bold while tasting smooth at the same time. You want a great caffeine buzz? Get this coffee then and don't look back!

Upon opening the bag, I noticed the aroma is muffed. Usually coffee beans’ sealed bags give the initial aroma; this one didn’t. Perhaps it’s the age of the bag stored at a warehouse though the label at bottom of the bag, claimed an expiration date is a year ahead. Brewing: 1- I use hand grinders to grind coffee beans and my grinder did a good job. The beans are not the best, however the aroma, even after grinding was not as sting as I expected. 2- 12 grams of coffee requires 198 milligram of hot water at 198-205 degrees. I used a pour over to brew the freshly ground coffee beans. Taste test: 1- upon first sip, I noticed the strength of the coffee. A solid 10/10 for strength without the usual bitterness, though if you never had French roasted coffee, this will definitely taste sour and bitter. 2- the balance is that once you start drinking the brewed coffee, a feeling of “awakens” hits your senses and you forget the taste ana focus on alertness. It’s actually true, this coffee does bring you from the brink of death (pun intended)! Overall..!! Sorry, but I won’t buy it again. I think if I have to, I would opt to purchase it from the source or locate it on a store near by. I think the bag has been shelved far too long beyond its (freshness) date.. sorry, but it’s my personal opinion. The only way I can classify this coffee, that it’s a Chicory-coffee..!

I wanted to get into espresso since my coffee maker died. I had been drinking a pot of coffee a day since the rona. Primary of just generic Folgers. I could honestly say that back then, the best part of waking up was Folgers in my cup. So I bought this Raven's Brew and Death Wish espresso, an espresso grinder, and espresso stove top thing maker. I'm writing this review while drinking the Death Wish espresso. Its a nice stimulant feeling while making me somewhat more productive at work. I'd compare it to a nice jog or run. Very nice espresso. "Raven’s Brew Coffee Whole Bean Deadman’s Reach" is a forced BJ in prison. I drank Raven’s Brew Coffee Whole Bean Deadman’s Reach and stared at my computer screen for a solid hour. Not because I was unproductive. No... no no lol I was thinking of every perceivable function in my code and how to prioritize every little detail and checking its syntax without even typing. At one point I think I started hearing things?!?! 10 outta 10.
