Great juicer- easy to use. Produces a lot of juice.
I have an Arizona Sweet orange tree that produces smallish but reasonably juiced fruit. For years we have struggled with a small electric juicer wasting a lot of the juice due to the way that works. I saw this at a fair and used it for the first time this morning. I rate it AMAZING!! It is very well constructed and is quite heavy with the cast iron. It worked straight out of the box and removing the strainer and juicing cup was very simple. Despite other reviews, the feet are large and it did not tilt. 5 smallish oranges produces 8oz of juice! I attach a photo. Highly recommended.

Fresh fruit juice the easy way
We are harvesting the grapefruit from our trees. This is the best juicer as it’s very sturdy and easy to use. No assembly required easy clean up. Very well made - stainless steel and caste iron. Takes up very little space.

WOO HOO!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
FINALLY! I have wanted one of these devices for about a year after seeing one on a commercial (not for the product, but for a pharma advertisement, lol, the things we notice in the weirdest places). Well, I finally had to buy one as we are juicing so many lemons and now oranges and the electronic juicer that I purchased was just not getting all of the juice out of the fruit. Enter Zulay Kitchen. After viewing many juicers and reading 100's of reviews, I settled on Zulay and am very happy that I did. I will start by saying that this juicer is high quality and very strong as well as very well made. Keep in mind, this is not for the weak or may not be great for people with joint problems or pain in their wrists. It takes a little strength for it to be totally effective. I think people with joint issues or pain can still use it because it works so well and they can use their body weight as leverage to help push the plunger down. I use pressure to keep it against the back splash on my counter and that helps with the leverage of pushing the plunger down. Ideally, a crafty person, such as myself, will eventually find a way to mount this so it remains completely stationary, but that will come at a later time. So, that all being said, now let's discuss results. The results are the fact that this juicer get every bit of the juice out of the fruit. 3 oranges gave me 2 - 8oz cups of juice and it took six in the electronic juicer for the same amount (results are not guaranteed, keeping in mind that some oranges are just not as juicy as others and also, be mindful of the fruit size that you intend to juice). The electronic juicer I am speaking of is one that turns when you push the fruit down on it. I think it wastes juice by not pulverizing the pulp. So, I've done lemons, oranges and grapefruits and each time, it worked flawlessly. It cleans up very easily and looks kinda cool on your counter top. Mine is black and and stainless steel and looks great with the gray granite. As you can see in the picture, I have strainers to filter the pulp because this works so well. If you don't like pulp, get these screens to keep near by, they work great to remove the pulp. Also, it cleans up very very easily. Last but not least, a Pyrex 2 cup measuring cup fit perfectly under to catch the juice. I would recommend purchasing this product.

Heavy-duty manual juicer perfect for fresh drinks, mocktails, cocktails and GIFTING!
This is a heavy-duty manual juicer similar to what you would see in a bar that makes crushes. I originally bought it to make mocktails at home. I usually add sparkling water to the fresh-squeezed juice and it has been simple and consistently good. What has surprised me is how useful it's become beyond personal use. Bringing fresh-squeezed juice to parties/brunches is a hit and fresh-squeezed juice makes a great little gift or a "pick-me-up" for someone who is not feeling well. It's pretty-doesn't need to hide and feels built for regular use rather than occasional use. There are a few parts but set-up and clean-up are easy. Overall it's turned into more of a social tool than expected-not just for home use.

5-star for performance, durability; a few details at 4 1/2 stars.
Not surprising that the Zulay juicer does what it says. Cast iron, lever press types of equipment (like the Hiker grommet press) tend to be that way, They are simple designs with few moving parts using principles of levers going back to Archimedes. It's also what makes them generally so affordable and I think Zulay has kept its price as low as possible. The nearest competitors, of similar design and quality, are about $100 more expensive. The 4 1/2 stars? That's for a few minor design details that I think Zulay might improve. The first is that it is a little tippy and Zulay recommends hold the back down when forcing the lever. I think the solution is quite simple. Use adjustable, hard rubber front feet instead of the fixed-height ones it uses. Then one can slight tip the juicer at a 4 or 5 degree angle. Same principle as putting wedges under the front feet to tall book shelves to keep them from tipping. A DIY solution is to take a 1-1/2" x 2" x 8" piece of wood; mortise two holes to fit the rubber feet into and glue a piece of non-skid rubber on the bottom of the stick. That should eliminate the tippiness without effecting the operation. If you also put a similar piece of wood on the back feet, you can raise the height a little which is just shy of a standard 16oz glass or similar containers. Which takes care of detail 2. I do think Zulay could make the height for containers a little taller - which would take care of that detail. detail 3 - the width between the arms of the base could certainly be a little wider at the back, to better accommodate standard size measuring cups and container bottoms which are 3-1/2" wide. I'll also mention hear that it does take some force to bring the lever all the down and get out all the juice. It may not be usable by those with less forearm strength or conditions like arthritis. They need to try it and see. I have found that if one slits the fruit flesh in quarters before juicing, it is easier to press. Design-wise, Zulay might think of putting some fins on the press bowl, similar to those found on hand-held reamers. That might help cut into the fruit as the upper plate presses down and lessen the force required. That's about it. The details don't detract at all from my recommendation that this is probably the best manual juice extractor one will find at this price. A good piece of equipment for anyone's home kitchen. It would also be good if this were made in the USA instead of China. I'd pay a little extra for that. about some of the 1-star complaints. I read them, and they mostly appear to be from people who didn't quite understand how to operate the Zulay, or perhaps reviews from competitors (one never knows.) Additional note: FOR SAFETY, Zulay needs to add a positive spring or button catch to keep the handle upright when it is in a vertical position and the press is fully open. The handle is heavy, and the slightest motion will set it traveling downward. While cleaning up I have twice had the handle hit me in the head, and once had the edge of the upper bowl crash down on my finger. That does need fixing, for safety.

Best purchase ever!
Best purchase for anyone who doesn’t want to use elbow grease or just don’t have the strength anymore to juice by hand. It is easy to clean. It is very sturdy and a little bit heavy. We use this to make lemon juice, lime juice, and orange juice., if you’re House uses a lot of citrus juice, this is a very good purchase for your home. It makes prep work much easier and faster. If you have child(ren) and they love lemonade, this makes the best lemonade or limeade. You can control the sugar that is put in so that you don’t have to buy it at the store!
