I read other reviews that said that the powder will dry out and get hard after time, so I was very careful to keep the little lid insert in place and to make sure the lid was very tight. The espresso powder still suddenly dried out and was as hard as a rock. It was so hard you really couldn't even compress the little chips to use. I tried adding a water-soaked-ceramic like you would for brown sugar to keep it moist, but it didn't change anything.
