This is a great paint that goes on smooth and thick. Many washable tempura paints are so thin, they are watery and see through when you use it. This paint has great color and doesn’t have a watery appearance at all. Big bottles, all the basic colors. A great value.

Love all the vibrant colors. 2 yr old twins love it. Paint is non-toxic, thick for non spills, thick enough to be a finger paint, and goes a very long way. We 1st went with the crayola washable finger paint and went through that very very quickly. The 12 pack ready to use tempura paint is worth the money and will last them both a very very long time. It's not advertised as washable, but it does wash off skin easily with soap and water and washes off hard surfaces as most washable paints do, but it does stain bright white items (stained a white food to-go container I used as their paint pallets, but I don't care). It's paint, so let the kids paint wearing clothes you don't care about and in an area you don't mind getting messy. I put my twins in the shower and taped up large coloring pages on the walls. Very easy clean.

This is our second order of these massive bottles of tempura paint. They last a couple of years after you open them and have served us well. Compared to buying paint at Michaels or whatever the cost savings is like 80%. The paint washes off skin reasonably easily so it can be used as finger paint but you will need to do a bit of scrubbing - I wouldn't recommend using it as finger paint for babies or any kid that is likely to try to eat paint. We have painted volcanos for school projects, giant murals, etc and it sticks to paper mache, cardboard, and posterboard well. Buy this as a gift for families with kids and they will love it.

This kit comes with twelve huge bottles of tempura paints in twelve separate colors. The paint is ASTM safe for kids, and there is enough for a whole classroom of kids or a houseful of grandbabies. We love these paints. For the younger ones there are enough base colors to paint almost anything right out of the box from flowers to pets to gra-pa-pa. For the older, more artistically inclined artists, these paints blend smoothly to create any hue and saturation of color you need to paint your masterpiece. (All of the grandbabies' paintings are masterpieces in the Reasonable Reviewer home and hung with pride on the frig.) This paint is easy to clean up with water, even after it dries, and with the little artists there will be accidents. As an added benefit, gra-pa-pa showed the youngsters how to create a layered scene on the windows with these tempera paints. Cool trick! All in all, whether you are a teacher, a parent, or really anyone who needs a safe, fun paint, this kit is a great choice!

Lots of different colors. Perfect for the kid's art projects!

I ordered this paint 3 years ago for my two boys and have now just run out of the primary colors. I have used lots of different types of paint as a teacher and I have been very happy with the quality. I am not sure why people are saying it isn't washable. It washes out of our bathrub, hardwood floor, clothes, etc. It did not wash out of carpet even when professionally cleaned, but by the time the accident was addressed, a whole bottle of the paint had soaked into the carpet and pad for several hours. I never let my kids paint on carpet but our puppy got into a bottle and spread it all over our family room. Anyway, it is washable in my experience (unless they recently changed the formula). It hasn't flaked for us and we have used it on thing like dried clay dough, wood, pumpkins, etc. If I am concerned about flaking, I mix the paint with Elmers Glue (teacher trick)! As far as I know, you aren't supposed to use tempera on glass, so I would disregard those reviews that complain about that. Overall, I am super happy with this purchase. The price seems fair to me when it buys you three years of art experiences. I'll be ordering more!

I am currently painting part of my sons Halloween costume (he is going to be Steve from Minecraft) and I knew I would need quite a bit of paint. I have seen 16oz bottles go for $5 each - and I couldn't find any for less than $3.50. Even though this set had many colors I didn't think I needed, I bought it anyway. I am SOOO happy with my purchase. I am painting cardboard, and much of what I have painted has needed only one coat and it looks good. My younger daughter is also painting pictures along side me and loving it. The colors are very vibrant, the paint mixes well, and again - you can't beat the price. These are nearly as nice as my acrylics - I am forever a customer of Prang now! Thanks for the great price Amazon!
