I took a camping and it was perfect

I’ve used a lot of sleeping pads over the years, and this one strikes a really nice balance between comfort, packability, and durability. The first thing I noticed was the brushed fabric surface. Unlike many inflatable pads that feel slick, noisy, or plastic-like, this one is soft to the touch and much quieter when moving around at night. It’s also thicker and more supportive than I expected, which makes a noticeable difference for side sleeping and for keeping pressure points off the ground. Once inflated, it feels stable and comfortable, holds air well, and provides enough insulation for cool spring and fall camping conditions. The included inflation sack is a clever design that eliminates the need for a separate pump, and the whole setup packs down reasonably small for transport. Whether I’m car camping, sleeping in the back of an SUV, or spending a weekend at a campsite, it has provided a much better night’s sleep than basic foam pads or inexpensive air mattresses.The biggest complaint I have is the inflation process. While the included pump sack works and saves carrying extra gear, it takes some practice and can be slower than expected. Several users found themselves wishing for an electric pump or manual inflator, especially the first few times they used it. It’s also a little heavier than ultralight backpacking pads, so I see it as being best suited for car camping, overlanding, scout camps, hunting camps, and shorter backpacking trips rather than long-distance hikes where every ounce matters. Overall, though, the comfort, quiet sleeping surface, solid construction, and reliable insulation make this a sleeping pad I’d happily bring on future camping trips. It feels like a quality Coleman product that prioritizes a good night’s sleep over shaving every last ounce of weight.

This is a nice “self” inflating camping pad/mattress by Coleman. To inflate you don’t need any sort of separate pump. You use the included pump sack (the mattresses stuff sack) which means less gear to worry about. To pump this up, first, lay the mattress out flat and open its inner valve. Attach the stuff sack’s nozzle to the mattress valve. With the pump sack placed upward and the top held open, blow a big puff of air into the sack. Then quickly start to roll the top edge of the air sack more and more to push and disperse the air into the mattress. Keep rolling until all the air is pushed inside. Alternately, you can gather the top of the bag tightly to trap the air you blew in and push the bag down to force the air into the mattress. It takes me between 7-8 cycles to fill the mattress but that will vary for each person. Deflating is quick and easy. Just open the full valve up and the air will release.This mattress pad seems to be well made with nice thick valves, durable outer seams, a moisture proof bottom and a soft knit fabric on the top. I weighed it using my kitchen scale and it came out to 2lbs 11.7oz so not bad for shorter backpacking trips but not ideal for really long trips. We dispersed camp often so I’m excited to have this.This has a 3+ R-value rating which should suffice for temps down to about 50°F or 10°C for most people. It also helps to have something underneath the mattress like a reflective emergency blanket (or any kind of blanket would help) or what we typically use are interlocking foam floor squares (like many use inside playrooms) if you’re still finding the cold coming through the floor of the tent too much. Keep in mind that air mattresses can feel cold because the air inside matches the ground temperature. The R-value ensures you are better insulated from that temperature, not that the mattress is actively heated at all.We camped one time where temps got down to 49°F and I was using an inexpensive air mattress without any R-value and I felt a lot of cold coming up through the mattress and was quite uncomfortable. I wanted to give this one a try last night but the high overnight was 38° so I opted to wait to see if we’ll get a night with at least a low of 47°-50°F and that’s looking to be a week out so for now, I can’t confirm if this mattress makes a difference but I absolutely will come back to update. Coleman makes good camp gear that has served us well over the years so I have a lot of confidence this will do as it’s rated to do, but I pinky promise I’ll update my actual use experience with this as soon as I’m able to weather wise. We live in the mountains so it’s been quite chilly the past few weeks with ice and snow. I do have a tent already set up that I’m also testing so just waiting for Mother Nature to grant us a little early false spring evening. ☺️ My son (14) did sleep on it inside the house and we didn’t notice it loosing any air come morning and he said it was pretty comfortable. I laid on it for a bit and it’s comfortable for me even while laying on my side.For now giving this 5/5 stars. It’s quick and easy to inflate/deflate, has a robust valve system, an R-rating that makes it nice to have for late Fall to early Winter camping, has a soft fabric top and what looks like durable seams. I feel the price ($99.99 at the time of this review) is fair for its attributes and the quality of it.

Coleman doesn't disappoint and this mat is no exception. It's got a really nice thickness to it that makes a genuine difference in sleep quality — not that thin, barely-there situation you get with budget pads. The brushed knit surface feels soft and comfortable against a sleeping bag, and the R-value 3+ insulation kept things warm without any cold sneaking up from the ground.The quiet factor is real too — no crinkling or rustling every time you shift positions, which is a bigger deal than people realize until they've spent a night on a noisy pad in a shared tent. Inflation is quick and intuitive, and at 2.6 lbs it's light enough to bring along without any guilt.TLDR: Thick, comfortable, quiet, and warm — exactly what you want from a camp sleep mat. Coleman delivers again.

This inflatable sleeping pad uses the storage bag as an inflation bag also. The inflation bag attaches to a standard fill and release port that can also work with an electric pump. It takes approximately 23+ pumps of the inflation bag to completely inflate the pad. I found that punching-in the end of the inflation bag is easier than hugging the bag. Once inflated, the pad provides a lot of support, and it could feel very hard if it is overinflated. The pad surface is comfortable, and it does decrease the sound of the sleeping bag moving against it. The 24” width allows me to fit two pads in the back of my van which is 48” wide. This is already a good pad, and will be even better if it had a built-in pillow, or maybe the storage bag/inflation bag can be redesigned to also function as a pillow.

This pad is thicker than I expected and has a very plush outer surface which does a good job of keeping your sleeping bag from sliding off of it when turning over during the night. Rolls and unrolls easily and is also easy to clean off with a hose if necessary.Inflates quickly and efficiently. Very easy to use and quite comfortable (I use this to camp in my SUV so having the pad up against one edge of the interior wall adds some stability.All in all a inflatable pad worthy of the Coleman name.

Coleman has been making superior outdoor gear for decades. Even in this age of cheaply made foreign stuff flooding in, Coleman has kept is reputation in tact. This item is a perfect example. Top notch construction with top notch materials, well thought out design, and rugged lifespan. This pad holds the inflation well with no slow leak from the valve or poor seam sealing. Good, thick, material makes it more forgiving than cheaper pad, and the flocked surface keeps you from slipping and sliding all night. Of particular note is the clever bag design which doubles as an inflation tool. No more winding yourself at 9,000 feet trying to get your pad inflated without a pump. Very comfortable when inflated, it pack small for ease of transport. It ain't the lightest weight pad, but it will last you a lifetime and never let you down. After all, its Coleman!

The Coleman inflatable sleeping pad is easy to use and inflates fairly quickly. One of the nice features is that you can use the stuff sack like a hand pump to push air into it, which makes setup easier without needing any extra gear.The size works well for me at 6'1" and 250 lbs, and as a side sleeper I usually need more cushioning than most pads provide. This one has good comfort, and I was able to get a decent night’s sleep without feeling the ground underneath me like I do with thinner pads.It feels like decent quality overall and has enough padding to make it a big step up from basic foam or thin air pads. It also packs down reasonably well, though like all inflatable sleeping pads you still have to work a bit to fully deflate it and roll it up tightly again as it's a tight fit in the stuff sack.At about 1 1/2 lbs, it’s pretty much on par with other air mattresses this size, which makes it a comfortable and practical option for backpacking and great for car camping. It's 1/2 price of "big name" backpacking mattresses making it good value for the money.Overall, it’s a solid, comfortable sleeping pad that’s easy to use, packs reasonably small, and works well for someone who wants better sleep outdoors without adding too much weight or bulk to their pack.
