We have it on a credenza and smell it as we pass by but not entering the room. I flip the reeds every couple of days to get a bit more of a cast, seems to work. It looks to me as if the inside portion of the top opening could be removable, unfortunately I haven’t been able to remove it. I believe if I could the scent would cast much better.
