Got this for my boyfriend for his birthday and it was a great budget ice maker for him. It is super small which is great for a small fraternity room. I will say they are not totally silent and make a quiet fan noise when running. Sometimes they are loud but whe they get louder it just means they are running low on water. I would say you should probably take the ice out as the machine itself does not keep them cold. It allegedly self cleans but they do grow mold which the self cleaning cant conquer on its own. It is pretty efficient and makes ice quick. The only thing is ours might be defective as the green light never turns off.

This thing makes ice like crazy! And works very fast. Choice of small or large cubes. Uses very little water. Easy to drain and wipe clean.

Absolutely love it. Makes good ice I use filtered water only. It’s very quiet. Fits perfectly on the counter. I love that it is self cleaning about once a week. I pour a half a cup of either lemon juice or vinegar into my machine down into the water. I set it for self cleaning let it go through a couple of self cleaning cycles, and then I pull it to the edge of the counter, unplug the drain plug from the bottom of the icemaker. Drain it, pouring freshwater and run the self cleaning cycle again a couple of times you do have to watch the catch tray for the ice and lays underneath of the ice cubes. It will mildew if you’re not careful which is why I clean mine once a week it’s moisture it’s going to happen cleaning that with a toothbrush is really easy after it’s thoroughly cleaned. I dumped that water through the bottom by pulling the drain plug then I fill it up with fresh filtered water and I always throw out the first batch of ice absolutely love. It would definitely buy another one honestly thinking about buying one for my sister.

Honestly, I didn't expect too much from this ice maker. My refrigerator is old, the ice-making part is in the freezer part and open, so I don't want to use it but not want to get a new refrigerator just because of that. I had seen a lot of ice makers in the stores, and they cost more than $150, some can be $500+! So I thought I would get some ice cubes. This thing makes ice faster than I thought! Small, portable, and fast! All I need is satisfied!

Overall, for the price this is a good purchase. I'm giving 4 stars because of the noise when it fills with water and the ice getting hung up in the lip makes it stop making ice because it thinks it's full when it's not.

UPDATE: After having this for a couple of weeks I have some other thoughts. I lowered my rating from 4 to 3 stars becuse while it operates the way it was intended, it is not consistent. Even though i choose small ice size, the size will vary. Sometimes it will give me big pieces during operation. Also, when i first got it, it would fill with ice then say its full and the ice was there to dump out. Now, there are times when the ice is mostly melted before i even have a chance to dump it.Item looks and works as advertised. I watched some of the videos in the listing to make sure that i was using and setting everything up correctly. I thought i would be able to leave the ice machine on even when not using it, but the instructions say to unplug it when not in use. You also cant put it up next to a wall, it needs space on each side. I started by filling the water to the max line and selected small ice. It ran for probably 5 hours like that before i cut it off and had to dump the rest of the water. I got about 2 gallon bags worth of ice. I have not had it run for 24 horus. When I'm done with it, i dump the water from the plug at the bottom and leave it open to finish drying until I'm ready to use it again. It does stay pretty cold too. I think its a good item, especially seeing the price of others.
