The hardware is appropriately aged to match the distressed look of the wood. What I disliked was the six, yes six, individual hanging clips on the back. First, they did not allow the frame to lay flat on the wall and they are the triangle type hangers that I find very difficult to get on my nail in the wall. I removed all of them and instead mounted a sawtooth hanger…only to find out that because one side of the window frame is heavier than the other, making it impossible to hang level with the hanger I attached. No problem… as I simply attached a small 3m poster strip on the bottom and proceeded to hang the frame straight and level. And we love it! It adds a farmhouse touch for us, but I believe this frame can be used for any decor preference. Actually, I’m thinking on stapling a piece of chicken wire on the back to add even more interest - my point being this window frame is versatile and can be hung as is or add your personal touch. Great item and I highly recommend. Review: Nice! - This is really neat! It's lightweight but sturdy, not flimsy. Very rustic and weathered, and there are a lot of ways you could decorate with this. Anything in faded pink would complement it well. To hang this, you'll need to place two wall hooks because the hanging hardwares are spaced apart rather than their being one central hanging hook; and this can be hung from pretty much every vantage (left, right, up, down). As a technicolor fanatic I intend to remove the (front) hardware, repaint this, and reattach the hardware--make it more colorful. Don't get me wrong--the finish is brilliantly applied, it's just not my style. I love the door handle and the realistic hinges. It would be easy to tape some artwork or photographs to the back of this and make it a (glassless) frame. Highly recommend, and well-priced.
