Just starting to add my soil and seeds.

It’s still a little cold where I live, but planting season should begin, so the huz and I have started our seeds inside for planting a month or so from now. We’ve never used peat pots before and now I’m wondering why we didn’t. These are SO much better than the little plastic pots we’ve been using. However, we used some of our plastic pots to hold these during the process to help these pots keep their shape. The fact that you can just take them out and plant them directly in our garden makes the process easier and quicker. No transplantation issues for the delicate start-ups. The pots are made of “recycled pulp and plant fibers,” and I assume the listing’s mention of using spruce fibers (“a forestry by-product”) falls into that category. They are 3” high, breathable & 100% biodegradable. I’m sold on these for turning our seeds into plants. There are 60 pots in one order, so we’re good to go this season. Even though the pots absorb water as well, we’ve got extra-long silicone bread pans to keep them in to hold the excess drainage or soil that may slip out. The provided markers are perfect and feel weather-proof. I don’t know what they are made of, but they hold up with permanent pen labeling. I’m excited for this garden to take off. Using these eco-friendly pots is making this process even easier.

These are great little starter pots and very easy to work with. My only real complaint is that the drainage holes are quite large, so soil can fall out the sides unless you line them. I used these to root agave pups, and they worked well for that purpose. I was able to cut them down in height easily to create the exact soil depth I needed, which I really appreciated. They dry quickly, are lightweight, and feel sturdy enough to handle transplanting. I also like that they’re biodegradable and environmentally friendly. I plan to use them to transition my hydroponic plants into soil before moving them into their first permanent pots. A solid option for propagation and early plant starts, just be aware of the larger drainage holes.

I used these to start a few pepper plants for t his season. They work great! The pots are thick enough that they are sturdy once you add the dirt and even after watering several times they still feel just as strong. They are easy to use and come in a pack of 60, which is more than enough for a small garden. The size is perfect for young seedlings and when they've outgrown the pot you can either plant them or dump them out. I had roots push through them on some bigger pepper plants I had transferred into them so I just planted them directly into the next size pot. I really like that they are biodegradable and there's no mess or little plastic bits chipping off those cheap plastic planters you get when you buy plants at the big box stores. These are a much better option and so far have worked great for me. 5/5 Stars, exactly as described

Just in time for my late winter mulberry tree propagation exercise. Each year I take 8 to 10 inch cuttings from my mulberry trees to propagate new trees. This can be a very delicate process, not so much with the planting part of the process, but the transplanting once new roots begin to develop. Removing a newly rooted cutting into a larger pot or into the ground can be very tricky with the sand soil mixture we use. This soil does not hold together well (by design) so we often lose the soil around the root system during the transplanting process. This puts them at risk. What excites me about using these biodegradable pots is that now after the cuttings begin to root, I will be able to simply plant the pot and cutting into a larger pot or directly into the ground, leaving the new and very delicate root system undisturbed. The pots are basically just a compressed cardboard that will disintegrate over time into the soil. They have drain holes in the bottom, which should keep the pots from crumbing too soon. They are just the right size for starting cuttings or starting seeds indoors this winter. Most plants will outgrow these small pots quickly, but as noted, that is part of the magic of these pots. Simply transfer to the ground and water in. The pots will eventually dissolve into the ground. Great product. Sorry it's taken me so long to try them out.

Great seed starting pops for flowers that you want to plant in the ground later. Very easy to do. Just dig a hole and plant the entire biodegradable pot into the ground and over time the roots will grow through the pot and the pot itself will decompose and become part of your soil. Prevents root damage from transplanting from pot to the ground.
