Spend a few more dollars and get the Brother
Terrible machine. The needle completely broke while stitching and I never even changed the setting or the thread. Then when trying to replace the needle, the entire assembly came off and it was next to impossible to put ot back together!! But I did, then it wouldn’t sew and the thread kept breaking, even after trying all of the tension setting on multiple stitches. Finally made the decision to send it back and GUESS WHAT!!! Amazon said I could keep it!! Dang thing still doesn’t work—I’ve tried everything short of taking it apart, which is next.

Not good for detail jobs
Terrible to set up, the top spool will not hold now and keeps getting jammed. The bottom spool jams up as well when doing the back stitch. The foot pedal is smaller than average. I didn’t take that into consideration. The working space in the middle has obstructing view. It is difficult to see your work. I bought this for a project of sewing a patch in the crotch of jeans and it was difficult to get the bulk to the jeans thru the middle of the switch machine and working on doing it. With a larger machine, I would’ve spent less time fighting the materials thru the needle. Something to consider. I would buy a normal size machine to replace this one.

Great Sewing Machine to Learn On!
For the small amount of sewing I do, this is perfect. It's not super quiet, it's not perfect, it looks and feels like it's made cheaply from cheap plastic, but it works! It does necessity sewing well. I think this is a great item for anyone looking to learn. Its price point is perfect for someone on the fence about their ability to sew. Get this, use it and practice. If you decide you want to advance, then do it. If it's not for you, you've got a great little machine that will get things stitched in a pinch!
