Awesome
Fantastic knife! Love Benchmade items! The handle seems a little on the cheaper side compared to other knives I’ve purchased through them, but it’s still a great knife!! Very sharp! Nice packaging.

Nice every day carry
I don't understand all the earlier fuss over the handle. There are certainly better feeling handles on the market place. This handle works fine in everyday use, though. It provides a firm enough grip that the hand doesn't move. If you mostly use a knife to cut tie-wrap, twine, plastic strapping and boxes then this knife will work fine. The ambidextrous nature of the lock and thumb studs make it ideal for left-handers. The benchmade axis lock mechanism is the real reason to favor this knife over another. The assisted opening mechanism is far superior to any other I've seen or used. In all honesty though the full size Griptillian opens easily enough that the assisted opening mechanism on this knife is unnecessary. It's a fine knife overall. It's as solidly built as any folder. The 154CM blade isn't the best on the market but it's up there. It'll get and stay sufficiently sharp that anyone will should be happy. The mechanism is ambidextrous both opening and closing.

Outstanding Knife
This is an excellent knife that I use for everyday carry. Benchmade is a quality brand, and this knife is no exception. I carry it with me everyday and use it whenever I can. It came new in box very, very sharp, and has a great quality feel to it. Two things drew me to this knife over other knives when I was shopping: the Axis spring-assist, and the external locking mechanism. I have previously owned a Benchmade Griptillian ( Benchmade Pardue Design Axis Griptilian Drop-Point Blade with Sand-Colored Handle and BK1 Coating ) which lacked the spring-assist and the lock, and in the span of a few weeks it came open in my pocket several times. No such problem with the barrage in several months of everyday carry. Even if the locking mechanism isn't activated, the assist requires enough force that it is unlikely to open in your pocket. I think my only real criticism of this knife is that the grips are rather smooth hard composite material, which is ok, but I don't like as much as the Griptillian's. Pros: -Very sharp -Great blade profile -Assisted opening -External locking device -High-quality feel -Great for EDC Cons -Grips are ok Overall it's a great knife, even if the grips aren't as good as the Griptillian's, it's still a 5-star product.

Great knife.
Great knife. Comfortable, holds a good edge, and very light. I love the Axis lock in normal form, and in assisted form it seems as close as you can get to automatic without technically being a "switch blade". Incredibly easy to open with either hand, and closes with one finger, although there is some spring pressure. The handle does feel a little weird, but I got used to it and the grip is good. I think the trade-off in weight is worth it.

Best EDC I've purchased yet!
I carry this knife EVERY SINGLE DAY, easy to clip into my front pocket. It's tip up carry which i prefer and sharp as ever! i mean. .gotta be careful shaving hair or i cut myself sharp! perfect for when the need to cut a stuck seat belt off for example. The assisted opening is very quick very strong, but doesn't just POP open, firm enough i keep the blade unlocked in my pocket and i have NEVER worried about it "flicking" open on me even when taking it out of the pocket quickly as if i were in an emergency. I would recommend this knife to ANYONE and EVERYONE. Plus made in Oregon. We Oregon folk love our Quality knives =)

A great knife for a very reasonable price!
I was visiting my brother in OR and he took me to a gun store near where he lives. I gravitated to the knives, since I'd flown in w/o checked baggage, hence no EDC and felt naked. I checked out several of the assisted-opening knives, then settled on this Benchmade. It works flawlessly, and likely epitomizes what American manufacturing can do when it really wants to. Razor-sharp out of the box, and carries perfectly in either jean pocket. I left the knife at my brother's when I returned home, but replaced my EDC Kershaw Blur with another 580 within a week of being home. Not to fault the Blur, this Benchmade just seems to be a perfect fit for my pocket and my hand!

great knife
first benchmade it wont be my last this is an all around great knife if your considering a sog get a benchmade instead they are so much better built, the lockup is solid, no play, i bought this and got rid of all of my other folding knives, im not sorry about it either, this thing opens with serious authority its totally worth its 100$ price tag unless you need the serration's i wouldn't get them, the handle scales are hallowed out zytel and innately feel a bit cheep but that is my only complaint and as its durable beyond belief i dont think its an issue, its a great knife

Very nice...
This is my first Benchmade. For my uses, this is probably too much to spend. I have AO Bucks, Gerbers, SOGs, and Kershaws and all of them were OK. This is a lot better quality than the SOGs, which have play in the actions. This has absolutely none. It is what the SOG would be if it cost more. The Kershaws I have all are great but they don't have the thumb unlock mechanism which I did like on the SOGs and older Gerber I had. The blade metal is probably far better on the Benchmade that any of my other knives. Again, for my purposes I don't know how much that matters, but I have always wanted a Benchmade so I treated myself. I wouldn't say that I will always buy Benchmades now, but it IS THE best knife I own and there are some others that I would like to own...

Ansonsten super Messer
