Gurukul is one of India's top colleges headed by Narayan Shankar. He is a man of staunch principles who does not like any changes in the way the college is run. He also opines that love brings only pain with it, so romance is strictly forbidden within the walls of Gurukul. Enter Raj Aryan, the music teacher who not only believes in love but also induces three of his students to follow their heart and fall in love. Vicky loves Ishika from girl's college nearby but Ishika hates him. Then there is Sameer who loves his childhood friend Sanjana but she has a boyfriend already. Lastly there is Karan who loves Kiran but their love is forbidden since Kiran is already married to a soldier who is reported missing and believed to be dead. When Narayan Shankar comes to know of Raj's activities he decides to fire Raj but then Raj reveals his real identity, his past connection with Narayan Shankar and that the real reason behind his arrival to the college is to change the old-fashioned way it is run.

Good manufacturers packed vcd but surprisingly shocking bad print by YRF films which wasn't expected at all. Good stereo audio quality but of no use as bad blurred visual quality. Threw in dustbin!

Liebe Bollywoodfreunde, habe mir schon des öfteren Bollywoodfilme angesehen, dies ist aber der 1. den ich mir auf Hindi mit engl. Untertiteln angesehen habe. Anfangs war es etwas mühsam dem Dialog zu folgen, aber nach diesen anfänglichen Problemen folgte Eins auf das Andere und wiederholt war ich begeistert.Vor allem weil die Handlung etwas vorhersehbar war. Junger Lehrer kommt an eine strenge Eliteschule um diesen jungen Männern etwas von der Musik und Liebe zu erzählen. Um die harte Führung dieses Internats etwas zu lockern. Gelingt ihm auch, nur der Rektor hat entschieden was dagegen. Er hält fest an Tradionen, Ehre und Disziplien fest. Änderungen kommen für ihn nicht in Frage.(Film erinnert mich etwas an den Film "Klub der toten Dichter"). Doch durch die präsenz dieses Lehrer beginnen die Mauern zu wackeln und wie könnte es anderst sein, die Liebe und das Gute im Menschen siegen. Wer Hindi mag und Englisch versteht sollte doch mal hineinschaun................

Why I bought this move is that it helped me to appreciate the beautiful people of India.It is a powerful show. It tells me that no body has the right to tell you who you should or should not love. Wonderful acting by all. Beautiful music. Fantastic acting by SRK.Amitabh Bachchan as usual fantastic.who should this be recommended to..any one who may have a dislike for Bollywood movies. Can not say enough about this move..loved every bit of it

Big fan of SRK and AB, ‘ parrently 1st time they’d co- starred and it delivers all you expect from this super star cast packed with beauties lead by Aishwara Rai. Good music. Lots of energetic dancing, and tear jerking moments. Reminded me of Dead Poets Society and I now see it’s labelled as a DPS rip off, and - yeah it depicts a teacher going into a stuffy institution lead by a dinosaur, breathing a breath of fresh air into the students lives - but really the outcome is nothing like DPS so I don’t think it qualifies as a Rip. Some good twists heading towards the inevitable and -ok - pretty predictable conclusion, but this is a corking stonker of a Bollywood. Even managed to squeeze in our favourite mad dad Anrish Puri, he of the demented eyes and demonic expressions. Throw in a few heavyweight wedges of romantic cheese and you got yourself an enjoyable movie. 9 and 3/4 ( ha ha ) out of 10

A great film [love stories]
Excellent film and superb acting.Only criticism is not much dancing but this is a gripping film even when watching using the english subtitles, Amitabh Bachchan shows real character in this and SRK is as usual great , I would watch any film with either of those two in and am not often disappointed and they work well together in this as in any film which the appear together.Some people do not like 3 hour films but the length give time for a real story to be told,
