Does anyone know if these are BPA free?

I'm not sure. I bought them for my daughter's 5th birthday party, and we have used them a few times, but our children don't drink from them regularly. They really became toys after the party was over.

Could these be used at a function with adults where cups are required on drinks to prevent spills?

I bought these for my 3yo birthday party and had no major spills. You still have to handle them with care, but it helps prevent any spills.

do these cups hold hot and cold beverages..ie; tea?

I used these for iced tea and lemonade. You could put hot tea in them, but it would be difficult to drink with the straw and taking the top off would not be an option. Hope that helps.
