4.75 stars. My ice tray kept filling up with water making a huge ice block. The water inlet valve needed to be replaced. The only issue I ran into was the contacts on the replacement (green plastic) were spread out wider than the original (blue plastic) and the connector was not able to latch onto the replacement. I took a pair of pliers and bent the two contacts together slightly and the connector was able to slid on. I now have individual pieces of ice.

Works perfectly, but prongs are too wide.
The inlet water valve has been installed and is working well. However, the prongs that plug into the socket are set a little too wide. As I tried to insert the prongs into the socket, I was afraid that the plastic socket would split open. In the end, the connection was made, and the socket did not split, but it was a close thing.

Didn't work for me...
My garbage Samsung refrigerator stopped making ice after 11 years. The ice maker was about the best thing I had going on in my life. Decided to fix it. Went online, found videos and parts numbers. Installed a new ice maker, still no ice. Step two was this item. Installed, still no ice. I guess it's my board because other stuff was going funky but corrected itself except the ice maker. I will mention: the plug width was wider than my receptacle. Got it plugged in but it was wider than the original.

Samsung RF217ACPN
My icemaker was making very inconsistent ice cubes. They were more various sized blocks and chunks and an occasional ice bucket filled with water. This got it working perfectly again instantly. I had to bend the prongs inward about 1/8 of an inch and the harness wasn't really able to seat completely. But it did work. I feel like I could have easily messed it up because I'm not sure how the prongs are connected to the circuitry. The reason for only 3 stars is that this is listed as a direct replacement and it obviously isn't. You may be able to grind the prongs with a Dremel if you're worried about disconnecting them from the circuitry. If anyone is interested you can test the resistance of the old one with a multimeter. It should read above 200 ohms. You can also use the multimeter for testing before and after bending the prongs on the new unit to be sure you didn't mess anything up.
