Pretty solid, easy to wire, good purchase

So far this is doing what it was bought for. I had a 50mtr extension cable that was been used outdoors for cleaning the car, power tools, hedge cutting etc. The old reel was in bits, and was a real pain to tidy up after use. I thought I'd give blank reel a go, plus most of the existing reviews were positive. It was very straightforward transferring my old cable on to the new reel. If your confident wiring a plug, wiring this won't cause you too many issues. So far its exactly what I expected for the price point and it's doing the job it was intended for. Recommended.

It's okay will do the trick, I have put 25mtrs cable on from the old one, photos enclosed. It doesn't feel very rugged so I wouldn't trust it with 50mtrs. Very disappointed that it does not come with a rubber grommet to thread the cable through onto the body to avoid chaffing and give it a bit of weather protection. I think it is expensive for what it is so not worth the money

Excellent value product robust enough for 50 meters

Needed to replace an old broken reel and reuse the cable. This one looked OK and reasonable price. Not the most robust, but looks good enough for domestic use if you don't throw it about. A bit fiddly to wire and as others have said, ' some instructions would help if you're not too confident with 'electrics' . Took 50m of cable comfortably. Fine so far.

this is a cheap item which greatly exceeded expectations. The original drum on a 50m extension cable had broken side walls limiting its use. This was a quick and cheap replacement which returned the cable to full use. It is reasonable quality, very good taking into account the price. If you are totally at ease wiring a plug, you should be able to wire this after 30 seconds of thought around how the circuit has been created inside the drum. If you are someone who finds wiring this a challenge, I would question whether you should be wiring it in the first place. It doesn't need instructions.
