Works well, the only thing is that the stream isn't straight It was necessary to ad a coppling.

I bought this a while back and did not get around to opening it due to a family death. Just got it out and used it to replace the dripping garden faucet. This thing is all plastic, not metal like it appears in photos. It lasted 5 minutes and started blowing water out and could not be shut completely off. One emergency trip to a hardware store and I now have an outdoor water faucet again. This thing is epuc junk. Just buy a good metal one and spare yourself a ton of stress and lost time.

I bought this type to avoid having to cut hose off and replace faucet every time taking hose off. The metal ones bind themselves to hose end making it impossible to remove hose after being on there for awhile.

I purchased these to use at a property located on a salt-water sound. The all-plastic ( except for one screw) makes these practically corrosion-proof around salt water. But watch out when you turn it on! It somehow acts as a water blaster sending streams of water everywhere! Don't think about filling bucket or watering can directly from this valve unless you need a shower. But if you connect it to a hose it works just fine.

Perfect for projects

I purchased this drain valve for a diy washing barrel and needed a 90 degree downward valve. The barrel is thin plastic and a heavier valve would make it sag when empty. It installed easily and looked like it would do the job. That is, until I turned it on. The slight trickle of water comes out. Yes, it’s a half inch pipe connection but the way the valve is designed it’s more like a quarter inch pipe. I removed and found another solution. It’s very decorative and would use it for a display instead.
