If asking about hanging the hoist, it chains onto a tree (chain included). **Q: Will the winch only ratchet one way or will it also ratchet when lowering the animal?** A: The ratchet only works when lifting. To lower you have to hold the crank, lift slightly and trip the lock. A little tricky but manageable. **Q: Is Hoist limited to 20" because of the chain? Can you connect a larger chain and have it go around a larger tree? A 20" circumference tree is small.** A: The chain is detachable. You could put on a longer chain. **Q: Would it be ok to mount it on the ground and use the pulley when it's lower than your body? Or do I have to mount it high above the load?** A: I'm not sure I completely understand the question, but you can mount the product at any height you desire as long as there is a tree or pole for the chain to go around.
