These do what they need to do. They are in every pack-out first aid kit I've sent out in the last few years. They're a barrier for the ground, they are good at protecting from the wind. NOTE that they will NOT keep you warm if you are not dressed for the weather, but they will keep you dry in the rain. They're very lightweight but I haven't seen one rip without someone either poking through it or trying to slide down a hill on it. It's a good value for helping protect a life.

We keep these in our car for emergencies that we have luckily not needed but also pass them out on colder days to the homeless in hopes this can bring a bit of help. Nice that there are multiple in each packet.

We always have several life saving blankets in every car in case of. I also use them to insulate the feral cats houses in winter. They are big, super light (2 ounces), and easy to carry as they could easily fit in your handbag just to say. Compact, but efficient as they keep you warm and they are also waterproof for the cats houses. Quality is good for such a price. It is a big square folded. Made of mylar, this body heat-reflective (to prevent hypothermia in cold conditions) thin sheet of plastic stinks, but definitively keep you warm. Mylar is polyethylene terephthalate so you know. It was created and developed by the NASA. It is not a good material for the environment though, so I use it only with parcimony (I cut the exact dimensions for the cats to insulate their diy home). Another important thing is that this waterproof can take fire: "it will burn under suitable conditions, reaching surface temperatures of 300–600°C (575-1,110°F) and flame temperatures of 500-1,000°C (930–1,830°F). FYI, if you still wonder what mylar is, kids' balloons are made with mylar. All in all, this set of 6 light weight blankets is good.

Couldn't believe the quality and the amount for the price. Absolutely get these I am never without them whether hiking or in the car and they are so small and flat you can put them in a purse in your hiking belt or your glove box!

Someone online suggested a mylar blanket to use after a surgery that had a lot of mess to deal with. This helped keep me warm & as dry as I could be, didn’t stick to my body, & was very lightweight. It’s rather noisy & feels like you’re a rotisserie chicken with the texture, but it still worked great for keeping me warm & comfortable post-op.
