DriverGenius External 7.1/5.1USB Sound Card, with 3.5mm MIC and 2.1 SPDIF - Compatible for Windows 11 & Mac (U2AUDIO7-1)

With the deadline for supporting Windows 7 looming, I know I either needed to upgrade to Windows 10 (a daunting measure for a 12-year old Dell. I did it anyway, what the heck. The only thing that did not work is the audio (old Sound Blaster audio card that came with computer). This USB audio external card fit the bill. It does come with a driver disk, but none was needed. My computer recognized the device and worked perfectly. I can now use this computer for several more years (until Bill Gates stops support for Windows 10). Life saver.

Works perfectly straight out of the box! True plug’n’play...no drivers necessary. Windows 10 automatically detected this sound card upon connecting it to my PC. In the settings, you can choose from 3.1 up to 7.1 surround. I used this as a secondary sound card for my sim rig when using my transducers. The buttons have a very solid click when pressed. Doesn’t feel cheap at all. It comes with a usb cable and driver cd. Excellent product!

Let me start off by saying that this little device did what a $120 Creative Sound Blaster xFI-HD couldn't do. Give me SPDIF input to my computer over USB! I plugged it into my Windows 10 computer and it just worked. I spent two days trying to get the soundblaster to work with multiple reach outs to their customer support with no luck. No - it's not perfect. It's a lot smaller than I expected (which actually isn't a bad thing), and the build quality isn't great - for instance the optical cable seems a little loose in the back. But I haven't noticed any effect on sound quality. I can't get the headphone jack to work, but I am able to monitor through the front speaker jack with my headphones. The included manual is okay, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it means when the blue LED on the top is flashing. It supports both 44.1k and 48K audio and seems to pass native bit rate through. I haven't tried 96K.

Did not work with my MacBook Pro. Couldn't get any sound out of it. No LED indication for VOL+, VOL-, or VOL Mute. Mic Mute LED did work. Update: The seller proactively reached out but I had already returned the unit.

Setup was easy. Worked right out the box. No driver needed. My gaming laptop only came with a stero headphone/mic jacks and the idea of gaming with a headset at home seemed dumb. I figuered I would try this device first before investing in new speakers. I was not disappointed. (Side Note) Windows controls all the levels and there are no real configuration you can do, but this device does come with software for that purpose if you choose to use it.

I have tried to use this device as a solution to a pc whose motherboard's built-in audio produces massive audio latency. This simply did not work. If an application has to directly make contact with the audio hardware it may not work, produce strange sounds, and create lag in the application. Using this as a supplemental audio device works, albeit not great. The audio has background static that is very noticeable.

I bought this item because the original sound went bad on my motherboard the onboard sound stop working this was easy to hook up and sounds great back it was better than my onboard sound Lovitt well worth the money I do not play games on my computer so I don't know how it works with gaming everything else is wonderful

I am a professional video editor and producer. My main editing platform is a high-end Dell PC with a Realtek-based 5.1 sound card. After the last Windows update (I lost track of which version #), the card would no loner operate in 5.1 mode. I actually bought this card to add an optical audio input to my laptop, but just for the heck of it, I connected it to my desktop. It works perfectly in both stereo and 5.1 surround modes. I wish I had discovered this product sooner, since it would have saved me hours and hours of fighting with the drivers for the Realtek device. Now I need another one! Highly recommended.

I had a great experience with this USB external audio adapter, It has a lovely audio manager to use and works on Windows 10 32/64 bit systems, the drivers and software came on the cd rom disc and installed with out any glitches, I had it up and running in less than 5 minutes, I really like the look and use of this product, couldn't be any happier.
