Francois Pralus Le 100% Chocolate Bar | Single

This is the best 100% chocolate bar I've tried. I did a taste test of 3 different 100% chocolate bars based on a site I found where 3 people compared 5 brands--I purchased and compared the top 3. The Pralus flavor is a little milder than the Manjari 100% Cocoa Paste and Chocolat Bonnat 100% cacao, but I actually prefer this, maybe because of the lack of sugar. The Pralus BIO Le had the best texture and seemed to melt in my mouth most easily--easier to savor. Chocolat Bonnat was more bitter and didn't melt well. Valrona Manjari 100% Cocoa Paste, which was the #1 ranked chocolate in the informal 3-person review, had a mild fermented taste to it that I didn't like.

This bar is delicious but I must admit that it had to grow on me. We are used to eating the World Market 99% dark chocolate bars which are delicious but A LOT sweeter than this bar. After I got used to the reduced sweetness (compared to the World Market bar) of this bar, I'd say that it's the best chocolate I ever had. It has no added sugar but the chocolate itself has a sweetness to it and the texture is so creamy and wonderful. Just let it melt in your mouth, it's divine. Folks who are used to the milk chocolate at the super market checkout will NOT enjoy this but if you are used to no or very low sugar dark chocolate, this will be a treat!

Very good dark chocolate, but you can get chocolate just as good for less money.

This is awe full tasting! I have never tasted any chocolate with this flavor before, bitter yuck.... not for me, maybe for others, but not me. Very expensive taste test....

Wow, I've got to say Pralus BIO LE 100% Chocolate Bar, is the best Chocolate bar ever! I am a Ghiradelli Fan and I use both the unsweetened powder and unsweetened bars and will not stop using because it's price is cheaper to bake with and cook with and it's flavor is great. AND I just cannot afford to do that with Pralus bars, But OH MY is Pralus BIO Le 100% unsweetened bar is delicious even without any sugar, it is hands down the best chocolate ever. IT is so amazingly smooth.. I wish I could afford it, because it beats Ghiradelli hands down. So, hopefully one day it will become just as popular as Ghiradelli and the price will go down and then I will be able to use it more often in my cooking and baking.

I found this to be okay, but I found it too focused on texture, rather than flavor. I tried five different 100% chocolate bars, and this one is certainly one of the two least bitter, but I also found it one of the less flavorful. On the other hand, it does have a remarkably creamy texture. I would guess this is because of a high cocoa butter content. If you want a creamy chocolate that is not too bitter, I think this one is for you.

This is one of my top five all-time favourite chocolates! I could not live without it. I'm glad this has been made available on Amazon, but I've got to say that I'm not pleased with the recent $2 increase in price. Right now Amazon is selling this for $14.99, and I can get this bar for $8.99 on other sites, so that is where I will go from now on. If you appreciate quality, dark chocolate, I cannot recommend this enough!

I wanted to try a low sugar chocolate and picked this one due to the reviews. The texture is smooth and almost waxy due to the natural (healthy) fats. It takes a while to melt in your mouth. The flavor is pure chocolate without much bitterness. The difference between this chocolate and "normal" chocolate is significant and does take a little getting used to. The nice thing (since this bar is a bit expensive) is that you don't need a lot to satisfy your chocolate craving. I take one small square for the day and can take my time eating it. Will buy again!
