I got rear ended in my brand new honda CRV while towing my small utility trailer with this hitch and it saved my car by taking the brunt of the impact with just a minor bend up. We had it bent back by a metal worker and its as good as new. I am so glad it did not break!! I was hit by a pileup of two pickups behind me when I was at a stop sign and I do not have a single scratch on my car. Hitch is very sturdy and easy to install and use. Thanks!! ### ⭐⭐ Rugged Hitch with poor bolt hole alignment *by K***D on Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2021* The installation of the hitch took 2 hours with the aide of a regular full car lift, cutting torch, die grinder, and saws-all.I can assure you we ( my brother and I) are skilled mechanics with advanced automotive skills, and good tools. This job is not for a homeowner laying on his back doing this job with a floor jack, no way.The instructions are clear, no issue, what is at issue is #1 the hole location on the center mounting bracket is positioned wrong, it is located too low to line up. I needed to elongate the hole to align the mounting bolt hole to the car's tow ring, because of the angle I could not drill a new hole and had to burn the hole with a torch, and smooth is out with a die grinder. OK so then I had to re-finish the hitches paint. #2 the center mount bolt backer is a rectangular piece of metal was too long for a proper horizontal fit, so I had to trim the backer plate by about 1/2", with the saws-all again I had to refinish this piece. #3 I read on other review that the 4 frame mounting bolts may be too long and that cause the bolts to rub on the exhaust resonators, sure enough after the hitch is in place an torqued, the bolts are too close to the exhaust, so I had to drop the exhaust down again and remove all the excess bolt threads to allow more clearance between the bolts and exhaust. If the new bolts were 1/2" shorter this would not have been a problem. Question do you guys really pay attention to the bolt fit ups?? So in all 5 of the 5 fasteners had to be modified, that is not right. Simply drilling the center mount hole in the right location, adjusting the length of the backer, and supplying 4 frame bolts 1/2" shorter would have save me about 1.5 hours of labor, use of a torch, saws-all and die grinder and paint. I liked the quality and sturdiness of the hitch, and the fact that is is made in the USA. Ridge...Please re-work the engineering and pay attention to the fit up details and get these detailed bolting issues right. I can image that a homeowner will leave out the center bolt, and have rattle as the 4 mounting bolts rub on the exhaust. ### ⭐⭐ Does not fit 2017 Honda CR-Vs as delivered. *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2019* The hitch would not install on my 2017 CR-V without significant modification. I fortunately have the tools to accomplish this, but the angle iron bracket that interfaces with the factory tow hook was welded on in the wrong orientation. I had to cut it off, rotate it 180 degrees and weld it back on. Only then could I actually install the hitch onto the provided fasteners without interfering with said tow hook.After driving the car a short distance with the hitch installed there was a terrible vibration/noise. It turns out that the provided fasteners were too long and the mufflers were riding them. With the engine running and the car in gear it was making a terrible racket. So I had to jack the car up again and lower the exhaust system so I could get access to cut the fasteners off.Once all of those issues were addressed it is a pretty solid hitch.
