I presumed that, even though this item is also plastic, it would provide a simple, solid support - due to the lack of movable parts.The good news is, it works fine. BUT... it's sadly not optimal (at least for my taste). In fact, after one day, I went back to the cheaper plastic movable mount. The problem is that, if you're mounting this outside with one of those weatherproof silicon skins for the Wyze Cam Pan, the camera is not going to be able to rotate the full 360 degrees. A few times, my camera got stuck when trying to rotate and then experienced some challenges re-calibrating to the normal scan function. This is was easy enough to reset in the app, but just a slight nuisance to have keep messing with. If this bracket allowed for just a half inch more distance from the wall part of the mount, it would be fine.The other disappointment is the plastic is weak. Be very careful when screwing it in or you will easily crack it.I hate to give this a bad review because it does work and, if you are careful with the install, you shouldn't have too many issues. If you are not planning to do very wide scans, then the 360 rotate issue might not be a concern for you either; however, I've noticed that sometimes the camera (on its own) will rotate completely when aligning itself. That is where you can run into it getting stuck or out of sequence a bit.I'm all for any kind of utility that helps someone accomplish a task so I heartily give props for the idea and offering. The material is very strong. I can't break it with my strength. I think it can withstand my wyze camera. It was just bought with the psychology of trying. The price is not expensive, but the quality is not.
