This thing is the cat's meow for a female industrial designer (product designer), and for people with wrist/finger problems and/or disabilities (all of the above for me). I have to put together a lot of light weight proof-of-concept household products, I mess with plastics, metals, electronics, do wire sculpture, misc household stuff etc., and I also have Multiple Sclerosis, which means my grip strength isn't so great anymore because I can't fully feel my hands/fingers anymore. But, that doesn't stop me from doing the things I love in moderation, and this tool is excellent for doing light weight *assembly* stuff. I use heavier duty stuff for heavy duty stuff as anyone should. The gyroscope works great and took me less than a few seconds to figure out by handling, so, intuitive. People with decent hand-eye coordination will possibly like this a lot. If you can't tell how hard you are gripping something anymore (as I can't), this might be good for you, because you don't need to be able to tell that, turn your wrist instead. As with anything, people need to make sure they're buying the right tool for the application. Easier on the wrists, hands/grip and fingers. Intuitive. I have small hands, I did not find I had to crank this too far to the left or right as others mentioned to get it going...especially if the rotation is speedy but perhaps I'm more flexible 🤷♀️.

As always this is a typical DeWalt product. Great quality and excellent build and functionality. Would have been nice if a few bits had been included in the kit. As it is there is nothing and you have to purchase screwdriver heads/bits separately. Also for customers buying this outside of the US note that it is 115V and you will need to buy a 115v to 220v converter if you want to charge the batteries with the charging station provided.

I already own a number of 20V tools including the drill and impact driver. The latter are just too powerful for more delicate jobs around the house, including screwing into drywall, wood, furniture assembly and electrical. This gyroscopic screw driver is perfect for those more delicate jobs. I have already used it for electrical work and in screwing in screws into drywall. Rotate the screwdriver a bit to the left while pressing on the trigger and it will slowly unscrew, twist some more and it speeds up. Turn your wrist to the right for tightening. I already used the straight configuration when I was working on duct work for my dryer where screws were difficult to deal with with the grip down. Very versitile depending on location. I found it very easy to get accustomed to using. The proper location of the bit clip is pictured. It should be near the back of the screwdriver as it has little clips on the underneath that prevent it from sliding. I found that sliding the bits in works best. No more stripped screws because of forgetting to press the button into reverse with too much power! The lighting is very good to see the work area as well as a mini using it for a mini flashlight. I like the power level bar. This is perfect for those small jobs. The torque settings are very light compared to a regular drill and that is a good thing. It is not meant for building decks :-)

At first, I was a little skeptical as to just how well the screwdriver would work and respond to motion at various angles but after owning this for a while now, I feel it is safe to say it is a clear winner. It operates flawlessly from all angles and its response to your movement is just superb, but I do think a sensitivity setting may be useful for some people, but I do not feel I personally need it. The only downside is the cost of the 2 battery kit versus the single battery kit. I wish I had realized this before ordering as the second battery adds quite a premium and can be purchased separately. Top speed isn't anything like a Dewalt 20v Max Drill/Driver but it is perfect for tasks where you don't need the brute force, speed, and additional weight that comes with it. Batteries have great runtime and having two means never having to worry about leaving something partially drilled or screwed. Pairing the gyro with a typical direction switch would have been a smart move for those times, I have yet to encounter, where that functionality could be an asset like areas where movement is restrictive. Over all, it is a great tool and I'm very pleased with my purchase, (a little less enthusiastic about the price though)
