A Solid Contender Against Bose And A Great Value
First this is an honest review from a regular old everyday guy. No one paid me or gave me free headphones. Period. I tested the Skullcandy Venue headphones side by side against the Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones. Here are my impressions: Sound Quality. Much to my surprise I actually found the Venue's to sound better than the Bose', at least to my ear. The Venue's have a much rounder and more full tone and comparatively the Bose sounded a little thin so I give the edge to Venue on this one. Noise Cancelling. This one was close, again much to my surprise. Both headsets were able to do a good job rejecting outside noise. Although the Venue's had a very slight white noise with ANC on and no music playing but not enough to put me off. However the Bose' have an additional feature of a high and low ANC setting which could be useful depending on the environment that you are using then in. Slight advantage Bose on this one. Comfort. The weight of both headphones are within 4/100 of a Lb. (yes I weighed them) so weight is not an issue. The Venue headphones fit a little tighter and snugger around the ear which makes for a good seal but might be a little less comfortable during periods of long use or if you have a large head. On the other hand the Bose are just the opposite they have more head strap room than anyone could ever use and the cans are much bigger than the average ear. This provides some short term comfort but if you move your head quickly they can actually move around on your head. I'm calling this one a tie because this is just personal preference. Build Quality. First Impression is that Bose has a higher quality. Theirs include some metal alloy where the Venue's are almost completely plastic. I found the Venue's to be sturdy feeling and was not put off by the look or feel. I have to give the advantage to Bose here. User Experience. Bose includes no user manual in the packaging and basically requires you to download and install their proprietary app in order to set up and learn how to use their headphones. This offers the benefit of assigning a virtual assistant to a button. This is helpful if you use Alexa or Google but not if you use Siri because it comes pre-assigned. I found the app an unnecessary hassle with little benefit. Venue's on the other hand come with easy instructions and clear easy to use function buttons. Advantage Venue on this one. Value. In the end, nether of these headphones blew the other away in anything but price. So this one was a no brainer for me. These are both high quality headphones. The differences are much less than I expected and many of them will come down to personal preference. If cost is not a number one concern and you listen more to podcasts than music I can see how you might choose the Bose. I have other Bose products currently and the quality is generally very good but I cannot say that I ever felt that the price point was commensurate with the value of the product. Considering the quality I am finding in the Venue's and at 1/2 the price of the Bose, for me it's an easy decision. I am picking the Venue's. Your mileage my vary.

Amazing sound quality!
Looked and listened to several brands before deciding on these. I'm not a musician but LOVE music. These charged rather quickly out of the box. Paired quickly to all my devices. Haven't tried tv yet but that is not an area I planned to use them for. A little snug around the ears and hoping this will ease up after using more. I also wear glasses and it takes a little time TO find the best placement so ears are not hurting. Again, these are brand new and haven't been on heads of all sizes like the ones in the stores. ANC works great inside my home. Outside and the gym are other test areas that still need to be done. Bought primarily for my trip to CA in June. Plane rides in the past very noisy even with ear buds. That will be the true test. Anyway, buttons take getting used to, pretty stiff but it's new. Sound is AMAZING! I can hear all instruments; something I wasn't hearing through ear buds (not expensive ones). Used on a phone call and could hear perfectly although, volume topped out and I would have liked it a little louder. Person I was speaking to could hear me clearly. Maybe the volume is a safety feature or, my phone(old OS system). I bought a new phone with 9.0 Pie so will try music & phone call again to see if sound is louder. Good thing about this since I could hear myself talking, was my speaking volume was normal. I'll try to come back to review airplane experience and out in louder surroundings. Overall, these are great for the price and I'm looking forward to reguarly using them.

Really good but not amazing
I've worked in audio production for about a decade now, and while I never use headphones for audio work, I do have an experienced ear. These headphones sound pretty good with all genres of music. Compared to Bose, they are very close in clarity - but the Venue has more bass. And by more bass, I really just mean that they render the bass exactly the way it was mixed and should sound. With active noise cancelling (ANC) on, the audio quality takes a slight dip, but it still sounds great. They are light weight and very comfortable. The build quality is pretty solid. As far as the ANC, it works well. It won't cut out conversations or noise completely, but it does thin them out to the extent that outside noise won't be too distracting. With ANC on the volume takes a bit of a dip. I experienced no noise or buzzing issues what-so-ever with ANC on. I expected a bit more noise cancellation but for this price range, I would say they are about right. The $370 Bose headphones have amazing ANC but I can't justify spending that much on a pair of headphones. The headphones come with a nice firm carrying case, aux cable, and USB charging cord. The headphone buttons are pretty straight forward and you will get a handle on them after a few minutes. The battery life has been great. Update: The more I listen to these the more I like them. The ANC is actually really good and the sound quality continues to surprise me – really detailed audio.

PERFECT for audio, w/ or w/o Bluetooth! EXCELLENT noise canceling and AWESOME value!! FIT AMAZING!
Excellent product! I have never had any problems, I bought them before cuz I dropped them and broke them, not because they're fragile but because of me being careless, lol, but they sound AMAZING for playing guitar, general noise cancelation, the whole nine yards!! They could be the most obnoxious color on earth and I'd buy them (again) Only failures I've had, are from being EXTREMELY rough on them (and I mean way careless, lol..and they STILL lasted over a year...if you take care of them, they will last god know how long.. even ones I've broken still work great!) ..oh and you can buy replacement pads for them if you want! ...but the value mixed with the comfort, sound quality, ergonomics, etc. etc. (and I've NEVER had a problem with them connecting to Bluetooth) is WORTH EVERY PENNY...whether you pay the regular price or get a good deal...or if you are playing music or an instrument through them. AWESOME (and beats paying HUNDREDS for BOSE. Definitely recommend!!

Fast charging & long lasting
The first thing I noticed when I put on these headphones was how good the Active Noise Canceling is. I never realized how much I needed ANC until I put these on. My spouse and I are gamers and have a smallish office that we have both our computers in. We also don't have central air, so we have a small window AC unit in here. With all the PC equipment and the AC, there was a lot of background noise that I've just been filtering out with my brain or with high volume on the headphones. When my Skullcandy Hesh headphones got to the point where the 3.55 jack could no longer connect properly with any cord, I finally switched to bluetooth headphones, using the ones I used with my phones at first—Skullcandy Push and some Vivitar over-the-ears I picked up from Target for $10. The Vivitars had good battery life, but the Pushes had good noise canceling from just being in-the-ear. After a month of this, I realized I needed something better, some ANC. I looked around, looked at pricing, looked at reviews, looked at many other brands just to hopefully find a good deal. There was always some dealbreaker. Slow charge. Expensive. Good battery life as long as you don't use ANC. I held off on looking at any other Skullcandy because, as I'm sure you've guessed, I've been a bit of a brand loyalist and I wanted to make sure I wasn't favoring Skullcandy just because it was Skullcandy. Let me tell you, I favor Skullcandy because they actually deliver. I started buying them decades ago, because their earbuds were cheap and reliable. I bought the Hesh because they were less expensive than the other headphones on display yet sounded better. I got the push because they actually fit my ears and don't feel like they're so heavy they'll fall out. The Venues look and feel extremely comfortable. They stay on my head even with rapid movement and don't need to rest on the top of my head. My Vivitars had a small headband that would touch my scalp and, after shaving the sides of my head, I found had actually been giving me contact dermatitis (aka a rash). The Venue headband doesn't need to touch my scalp at all to stay on. My scalp and mohawk are safe. I got the Venues because reviews said the ANC was great—and it is. I can game in the same room as my spouse and hear him clearly over the voice chat without hearing him in the same room. Even with no sound playing, the ANC still makes it calm and quiet in the room. I'm tempted to start wearing these while I'm out just to have the ANC on normal outside sounds. I got the Venues because reviews said the battery life was great—and it is. They arrived with no charge, but got enough charge in 10 minutes for me to use them with ANC for the rest of the night, which was about 5-6 hours of gaming with ANC on. I was using two headphones previously when I switched to bluetooth because the Push battery life is only about 4 hours and I would use the Vivitar while waiting for them to recharge. The Venues hold enough battery life on a full charge for me to use them all day while working from home, and then gaming for the night, all with ANC on and not needing to plug them back in at all. Let me repeat this important point: The Venues last ALL DAY with a full charge, and in the event that they do run out, they will charge sufficiently in TEN MINUTES. And if you can't charge, there's still a 3.55mm jack for your audio. There are other features of the Venue that I have not tried because they are not of interest to me (such as Skullcandy's partnering with Tile for locating devices, the hands-free call & assistant integration, etc). I use these headphones as my primary PC headphones, not with my smartphone, so I can't comment on any of the smartphone integration features.

Sound is great
Had these for a week, used them everyday for work, light working out, and just not wanting to hear my kids play video games...They feel good, they sound good, battery life has been great. I prefer the Skullcandy sound profile over other brands, so to me sounds full and rich. LOVE the noise cancelling, and the ability to turn it off (although when you turn it off, the volume drops real low -which is meant to so you can hold a conversation so it does do what it's made to do - just kind of not used to it as I turn it off to hear if my kids are calling me, or if something is beeping etc...because the noise cancelling is SO GOOD. I can't hear much else! My thoughts on some of the breaking I've seen from other posters, since the ear pieces swivel there is a bit of a weak point there where the headband is not meant to twist (if you take it off one ear for example) I've made it a point to either be wearing them or taking them off fully to avoid that issue, I also have been careful to SET them down vs letting them drop to the table to avoid stressing that area that seems to break from some. ** updated I tested the Mic out at work and my team told me it was the clearest mic they had heard, they were pretty certain if someone across the room from me farted or made a noise they would hear it.**

Fantastic design and sound! Don’t hesitate!
Great build. Quality materials. Well thought out design and easy to locate and operate controls versus other brands where buttons are tiny and indistinguishable from one another. Sound is unreal...perfect balance of highs, mids and lows...crystal clear! Battery life is excellent! Case is compact and nice appearance while protecting phones. Sound cancelling is pretty good overall...I don’t have much to reference but while they work fine for me. They cut what I would say is 75 percent of noise, particularly lower frequencies. Pretty comfortable after using for hours on a long flight but removed about 5 minutes every hour just to prevent potential discomfort. I tried 3 other brands before finding these keepers! Pay the little extra over cheap imports and move on!

Skullcandy is incredible!
These were my first pair of high quality noise cancelling headphones. And wow they really make a difference. For those with a budget of ~$100 like me (when these are on sale) you cannot beat them. The one problem I ran into is I think the noise cancelling technology is too strong for calls, because even with it switched off people had a hard time hearing me. My pair unfortunately broke (heavy use) before a year was up and I was very upset because I loved them. But skullcandy takes their one year warranty seriously! Even if you get them on Amazon on sale. I was so worried they wouldn’t accept my return since I didn’t have all the pieces but they accepted everything and gave me credit for the full price of the headphones (which I didn’t even pay!) so now I’m getting newer nicer ones worth double the price! Overall really impressed with skullcandy products and customer service.

almost great!
Mic was never great -too low level to be used outside-. Slight buzzing on Bluetooth in one ear side after a year. Was heavily used for 2 years by teenager and still works very well. I replaced the ear cushions after 2/3 years years, they were peeling.

Great headset and super comfortable
This headset has been better than expected. Great sound quality and noise cancelation too. When I'm talking to someone they can't hear any background noise. Its super easy to pair with both my phone and laptop and I can easily go into other rooms with no signal issues. Also super comfortable! I wear glasses and usually headphones start to hurt after a while but these are very cushioned.
