How do I put it on without bending my knee? Can't get my foot through the other side.

I would recommend the hip cast option. It worked well over my knee immobilizer. Only the top strap was not covered, so I used a trash bag on top.

How often may I use this?

You can use this over and over...it's rubber with elastic bands on both ends.

The choices are: Adult foot, knee, half leg or full leg. It will fit really any size leg. Works really well.
