Replaced my plastic stirrers
These were a great replacement for the coffee stirrers we were using. They're not as sturdy as the ones you'd get at a coffee house, like Starbucks. But really, do they need to be? These are for stirring minimally-viscous liquids, not mixing a cake. They're plenty sturdy for my at home needs. They are eco-friendly, which I love. They're biodegradable and renewable. These are also hardy enough to stand up to being left in a hot beverage without dissolving (like the plant-fiber or paper versions). Would buy again.

Inexpensive from a highly renewable source. Work great. I have bought these several times.
These are absolutely fine for liquids. I have ordered these several times now and while I may find a small number of less than perfect ones, 99% or more, are just fine for use. Anyone that complains about how thin they are is either trying to stir milkshakes or has unrealistic expectations. These are a thin piece of bamboo, meant for stirring things like coffee and tea. They are disposable and biodegradable so you do not need to worry about contributing to the plastic pollution now covering the world. Because they are bamboo, you can also burn them without releasing toxins. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants making it one of the best renewable sources. Is it possible you might have some imperfect ones in your box? Sure, but c'mon, look at the price, the are INEXPENSIVE. What do you expect? Gold plated, diamond crusted, robotized, automatic stir sticks that anticipate your needs? Just sayin'....

Not great quality but they work just fine
Even though I don't think they're a great quality product, I will continue to order and use these, as they keep me from using utensils to stir my coffee. Yes, there are some defective stir sticks, but not enough for this to be a concern. They don't feel very sturdy. But, the 'quality' stir sticks are 3-5X the price for the same quantity. I have a simple solution: I use 2 sticks when stirring my coffee most of the time. This resolves the sturdiness and one box will still last months. If there were high quality stir sticks which cost a few dollars more, I might switch, but until then, I will continue to use these, as I have been for the last 2 years.

Great value, good product
For stirring coffee and other beverages, these are perfect. These mix instant cocoa better than the plastic stir sticks. Mine are of uniform size and color. I did see one broken one, but five bucks for thousand is a great deal. I have read some complaints and experimented. This sticks do not mix epoxy well. They are useless for applying roofing tar. I have spread peanut butter with one, but do not recommend it. They are too short for a useful backscratcher. They are too thin for a dog toy. BUT, these coffee stirrers are great for ........stirring coffee.

No Splinters!
I noticed the reviews mentioning splinters are a bit old, so I figured I'll add my recent feedback. I almost didn't buy these because of those splinter reviews but decided to try them given the price was so low. I'm glad I did. I have not encountered a splinter or even a broken stick. The box is deceptively small but there really are a thousand sticks in there. Each stick is thin but more than sturdy enough to stir hot beverages. The sticks have not affected the taste of coffee or tea. I give them 5 stars because the price to quantity is great and the quality is plenty decent. Most importantly these will remove exposure to one more plastic product in your routine.

A little too small and a little too flimsy
The very first one I pulled out of the package had a defect in it and when I stirred my hot tea, it actually broke. I got another one out and just the stirring motion was enough to cause it to bend slightly. I'll eventually use all of these up but I won't be ordering them again.

Just what I wanted and expected
I bought these despite the one bad review alleging "splinters". I'm glad I did. Free shipping, good price. I couldn't find any wooden stirrers in any stores around me (Target, walmart, etc), so Amazon came through! And as for 'splinters", out of the box of ONE THOUSAND stirrers, I'd say there were 5 or 10 broken ones...maybe a few even had a (gasp) piece of wood hanging off them. I threw those ones away, and lived to tell the tale! I much prefer to stir my coffee with some natural wood than toxic plastic in very hot liquid I'm about to drink. Hygienically speaking, these are absolutely great, are clean, and I'm alive after using 990 of them...about to purchase my second box! Oh, also, I noted one review suggested they were too wide and actually splashed coffee on his/her hands. I've never had that -- maybe I don't stir my coffee vigorously enough - ha! They are certainly not "wide"...they're less than 1/4 inch wide, probably closer to 1/6".

As coffee sticks these are pretty sad, very thin, in such if had sugar in coffee stick is very likely to just bend. I got these for crafts, making miniatures, in which they are absolutely perfect for. A little peicey for what you get, but overall i am happy with them. They are pretty straight, not many broken ones or bent ones.
