I expected a lot more hazelnut-ty flavor. As several others have mentioned, these are bland. I think that is really not the seller's problem, though. I should have looked more closely at how they are prepared. They have no salt, no oil and seem to be very lightly roasted -- or as some suggest, more blanched than roasted. They do not taste bad. What taste there is is pleasant enough. I very much like most things hazelnut. But maybe I am not as big a fan of the actual nut itself as I thought. One reviewer suggested roasting a bit more to bring out the flavor. I might just try that and adding a pinch of salt. So, to the packaging... I have found this to be a trend, especially in nut packaging. Reseable packages are virtually impossible to open while preserving the ability to reseal them. I initially tore the top along the perforation (which didn't really seem to exist) as instructed. I could not pull the package apart to get to the nuts. I then used scissors to cut as close as possible to the resealable "zip" strip. I still could not pull the top apart, and I am a fairly strong guy. In the end, I cut the package open below the seal and put the nuts into a sealed plastic container. I should mention, though, that the packaging seemed very sturdy and, otherwise, high quality. And I took a star off for freshness because of the taste issues. I think they may very well have been quite fresh. But it was not obvious based on the taste and texture.

These roasted hazelnuts are a great everyday snack if you’re looking for something simple, clean, and satisfying. The flavor is rich and naturally nutty, with a fresh roast that brings out a slightly sweet, buttery taste without any bitterness.
