Reliable and Affordable Replacement for ACE® Sanitizing System – The Scepter Salt Cell® Delivers!
I use a saltwater hot tub because I do a lot of stupid things athletically, and the salt helps to relieve pain. I’ve been using The Hot Tub Wizard - The Scepter Salt Cell® Replacement for my ACE® Sanitizing System for about 9 months, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance! Affordable and Great Value: First off, the price is fantastic. I was hesitant to buy a replacement cell because of the high cost of some other options, but the Scepter Salt Cell gave me top-quality performance at a much better price point. It’s a significant cost-saving option without compromising on quality. Easy to Install: Installation was a breeze! I was able to replace my old salt cell in just a few minutes. The step-by-step instructions made it very simple, and I didn’t need any special tools or expertise. As someone who isn’t particularly handy, I really appreciated how easy it was to get everything set up and running smoothly. Reliable Performance: After 9 months of regular use, this replacement salt cell has performed flawlessly. My hot tub water stays clean and clear, and the ACE sanitizing system continues to work as it should. The salt system is efficient, and I haven’t had to worry about any issues with water quality or maintenance. It's nice to know I can rely on it, even with consistent use. Overall, I highly recommend The Hot Tub Wizard - The Scepter Salt Cell® Replacement. It’s a reliable, cost-effective solution that works perfectly with my ACE® Sanitizing System. If you’re looking for a replacement cell that’s both affordable and easy to install, this is the one to go for!

Game changer for our hot tub maintenance
"The Hot Tub Wizard - The Scepter Salt Cell® Replacement for ACE® Sanitizing System:" is a game changer for our hot tub maintenance. I was, as many, stunned by the cost to purchase and have the company that sold us our hot tub replace a defective salt cell two years ago when our cell failed. The replacement lasted a scant two years, and I could not stomach paying those exorbinant costs again. This time around, some sluething on the internet led me to the Hot Tub Wizard and what appeared to be an almost too-good-to-be-true solution. I read reviews, watched the videos about intalling a replacement cell, and ordered this one. The installation was actually pretty easy, and the hardest part for me was removing and replacing the side panel, a process hampered because of the ill-advised location of a grab bar dating back to the original set up of the hot tub. The bar, which fits under the bottom of the tub, partially blocks the panel, so access and removal took a tad longer than it otherwise would have. The wiring and related steps were easy, and the replacement cell started working immediately. After about 6 weeks, it has functioned flawelessly and the output of chorline is consistent. I actually have the setting down a number on the controls because this Scepter Salt Cell is better designed and functions better than the original, expensive, prone to wear out, Ace cell. I did not have to engage with the Hot Tub Wizard for customer service, but I have seen multiple positive accounts from folks who did have interactions with this company. I recommend opting for the Scepter Salt Cell, intalling it yourself, and saving your hard-earned money.

Perfect replacement
I was very skeptical about buying this as I have had 3 Hot springs ACE sensors replaced over the last 9 years. I was blown away how easy it was to install and immediately worked! Definitely recommend this as a replacement for the seriously overpriced OEM sensor.

Plug and Play
After having gone thru 3 original cells at $1000 a pop and only lasing about 18 months each, I started searching for another option. After reading all the other reviews, I purchased one here. First: Let me say, that this is such a SUPERIOR DESIGN over the original cell that is sold! The clear body allows you to just look at it to see IF it's working and IF it needs to be cleaned. None of the trying to peek into the tiny hole at the bottom to see if the cell needs cleaning nonsense. I think the additional larger holes around the sides of the body allows for better water flow thru the device and will make it more efficient. This really was just "Plug and Play"..... just swap out this new cell and plug the wires in and presto....the display recognizes the device, and you can actually SEE the chlorine being produced (tiny bubbles ) ( also easy to see since it's NOT hidden inside the filter ) **My wife usually takes care of the chemical maintenance of our hot tub, and she was Very Skeptical about purchasing this cell and whether it would work....she was actually thrilled when everything worked sooo easily. * I like the helpful videos and cost saving tips on their website....very helpful. ** Installation Tip** After unplugging your existing wires, Attach a 6 foot "Drag Line/ piece of string" to the wire with some electrical tape. Then pull the old wire out ( as shown in all the videos) Leave the other end of the string dangling in the service compartment. ( you can even tie it to somethin if you want just to be sure ) Follow the video instructions, THEN attach the string to the end of your New Wire. Now....just gently pull the string from the service compartment end and push the wire from the other at the same time...this will help you guide the wire along the way into the service compartment where it belongs. **This tip will make your life so much easier ! My wire had a couple turns to make, so the drag line made it very easy to do. The entire installation only took less than 1/2 an hour. ( that would have cost me $300+ with the old system ) **If I follow the cost saving tips on their website to help prolong the life of the cell and it only lasts 18 months....then I'm way ahead of the game ! It will be a huge win !

Failed after 3 months. Don’t Buy.
Doesn’t Last as Advertised. It worked effective for about three months then completely failed. I tried multiple times to contact the manufacturer before writing the review and got no response. Very expensive to only last a brief time.

Great replacement at near half the cost.

I don't usually post reviews, but the ACE system has pissed me off so badly that I have to post this to help other disgruntled owners. After having yet another $1000 Ace Cell disintegrate in my tub after less than 2 years, I was rather annoyed. It should be noted that my ACE cell is cleaned on schedule, the tub chemicals are always bang on and the tub is used typically once or twice a week by just me. The math works out to the ACE costing me $500/year, which is hardly the "miracle" vs. chlorine and other chemicals that they advertise. I've only stuck with it because I hate fussing with the chemicals all the time and it does seem to do a good job...when it is functional. In my anger I started googling alternatives. I saw the Sceptre and was rather skeptical...1/3 the price? Really? Virtually no reviews on Amazon.ca so I initially decided to pass on it. Then I had a rare moment of brilliance (I am blonde, lol) and logged into Amazon.com to see how it fared in the USA. Well happy surprise! Almost 500 reviews and nearly 5 stars. All in baby! I was initially worried when it came in simple plastic bag in one of those marginally padded white Amazon envelopes and figured it had been bashed up mercilessly in transport although it looked OK and quite sturdy. Of course I was comparing it to the ACE cell, which always makes me feels like I'm in a delicate surgery every time I have to touch it! In just over an hour I was done and my tub was reading smack bang in the middle of the green zone. Sweet! The instructions that come with it are not great but there is an awesome YouTube video out there. It has been in the tub for 2 weeks and seems to be working spectacularly. I'll have to see how it goes though as it's still early in the game. The only suggestion I would make to Sceptre is to provide a new cap for the old filter tube (like the other 4 filter caps in my tub). This would eliminate fussing with the weird fiddly, little plug (looks like a blue drywall anchor) and all the salvaged little bits of the old system needed to plug the ACE powercord hole. Merely screwing on another full cap would have cut my replacement time in half. I would have paid an extra $20 to avoid this hassle for sure! Today the hot tub supplier came by to service the tub and fix a dead jet. Interesting conversation ensued where they first tried to scare me about damaging the tub with this product (I reminded them there as no warranty left on the tub). I informed them that if it hadn't been for the Sceptre, I might have bailed on any salt system. But at ~$350CAD delivered to my door and about an hour of my time to install, I'm giving this one a try. It also comes with a 1 year warranty so no way it will exceed the cost of the ACE even if it died the day the warranty ended. This thing looks way more skookum than the ACE and I'm betting it will make the full 2 years or more. Then they tired to sell me a different system (ClearBlue) as they kinda admitted to the disappointingly short life of the ACE cells (adding that some unnamed lady got 5 years out of hers...yeah right). NOPE...I don't think so. I don't have to deal with a whole new system retrofitted into the tub or add any other minerals with the Spectre. It really is a plug and play, utilizing the display of the original Hot Springs ACE system and working with the salt already in the tub. Admittedly, the cost of the ClearBlue system "might" prove to be a bit cheaper if the Spectre cells don't last 2 years, but I'm committed to giving this a try. I'm holding fast to a belief that the Spectre should at least match the performance time of the wimpy ACE system what with having survived the trip in the flimsy Amazon envelope unscathed! I'll repost if and when the Spectre fails. I'm hoping we don't have to chat again for another 2-3 years!

Huge props to the manufacturers of the Sceptre. The original ACE system is complete garbage. The support from the ACE manufacturer is the only thing worse than the product itself. I had replaced the ACE system 3 times. They only covered it once under warranty and never improved the product. I essentially have up and then came across The Sceptre. Seemed to good to be true. A fraction of the cost of apparently more reliable. I took the chance and bought it. The installation is incredibly easy. Trust me that you can do this. It is a seamless replacement. You'll get in done in less then 10 minutes. And... It works. Works like a charm. Stabilized the system within a few hours and continues to function perfectly. The hot tub system recognizes the device and "it just works". Don't hesitate, just buy it and get rid of the ACE system. You'll be thrilled.

My original ACE diode lasted just under 2 years before the spa started telling me low salt no matter what I did. Cost to replace was around $1100 plus install from dealer. Did 15 mins of research before stumbling on to this product. Great reviews all around so I decided to give it a try. Arrived quickly to Canada and honestly install was an absolute breeze. Only issue was a bit of work around the coupling through which the wire runs which must be water tight. Gave customer support a quick call and Lance was more than willing to help in anyway that he could. Figured it out and it's honestly been working like a charm! As others have mentioned I was never really sure the OEM part was working properly but you know this one works! Also has much better output so I can keep the levels much lower in the spa unit but trust the chlorine is there. Very happy customer.
