Engaging, sophisticated, interactive, intuitive

The media could not be loaded. Our cat Stormy absolutely loves his Mousr. He perks up when he hears it beep, eyes wide, with his tail in the air, flicking back and forth. This is a great cat toy, and well worth the price tag in my opinion. It is expensive, but it's an intuitive robot that can be precisely controlled or run on its own accord. As they say, you get what you pay for.The robot roams around the house, has no problems on carpet, it can flip itself over if it gets knocked over, adjust its direction after hitting a wall, chair leg, etc. We've got a lip where our carpeted living rooms change to vinyl kitchen flooring, if it hits that at a bad angle it can take it a few seconds to sort out, but it always gets by.Autoplay is customizable, a setting for the type of tail you've got on the toy, and buttons for Calm, Fenetic, and Custom play. The advanced customization lets you select the floor type, speed, pause length and frequency, and, my favorite, toggle "struggle when caught" on or off. We really like the "All Day Play" feature, as I can have very long work days. The setting basically stops the robot from roaming around the house once your cat has stopped playing, and re-starts with touch from the cat, conserving battery. Stormy plays with it for a half hour or so, walks off and eats something, curls up for a nap, then wants to play in an hour or so when we are home with him, and I've got to imagine he behaves the same when we're out.Regarding the simple or precise remote control, and honestly the precise is more intuitive, especially for anyone who plays video games, as you control Mousr's speed with your left thumb and direction with your right thumb, working like any first person game in the past 15+ years. Simple has a wheel, reminded me of the old ipods, which was fine to introduce myself, but precise is easier for me, and you've got better control of the toy.As a note, when it first arrived and we turned it on, he followed it with cautious curiosity as it moved around the house, and didn't really interact with it all that much. That first day, we had in on "autoplay" for two hours or so, and he followed it wherever it went, but always kept a safe perimiter. Turned it on the next day, a bit concerned that we had bought an expensive toy that our cat didn't like, but once it went on again all bets were off. He started to stalk it, chase it, bat at it, follow it around...but then pounce. I'd never seen him so excited about a toy. I think he just had to adjust to something moving, almost like another animal, in the house. And as a final note, outstanding customer service. I had a question, clicked the email link in the app, and had an email exchange, and a phone call where my question was answered, and I was given some tips on using and getting the most out of Mousr. If you can spend $150 on a cat toy, I absolutely reccomend this thing. Especially as someone who works long hours, it's nice to know that Stormy has something to interact with when he's alone during the day. He loves the heck out of it.

Great for temporary distraction

We ordered the Mousr to keep our two two-year-old cats entertained when we're working from home and they want to play. Overall it has been great and the only reason I gave it 4 stars on durability was for the tails. The device itself has held up very well. The only thing that I really wish it had that it doesn't is a protocol for retreating to a charging port and recharging itself when the battery gets low or at least getting away from the cats in between play sessions.Pros:- Keeps the cats interested- Autoplay feature means we can turn it on and just let it do its thing- It handles cords on the ground, rugs, etc. pretty wellCons:- The battery life was a bit of a disappointment. It has a feature called "all day play" which spreads out the play sessions, but I hadn't considered the fact that meant that the tail was immobile for the periods between play sessions, which has let the cats destroy the original tails the device came with.- Sometimes it rushes towards my cats and will bump into their paws. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. It doesn't seem to hurt them at all, but they definitely don't enjoy it.

Fails to Deliver

I wanted so much to like this product but for the price it falls way short of the mark & I'm likely to return it. Maybe for $55 it would be worth it. At close to 3x that amount no way. There's a couple reasons it fails to meet expectations. One of the first is the battery life is abysmal. As soon as you power it up and put it down it's already under 95%. In it's wide ranging mode you may get 20 minutes out of it but by that point you're definitely under %35. You're best bet is stationary mode to preserve power but that doesn't make up for what you've paid for. I also bought this cat toy knowing my daughter might enjoy using the app to remotely control Mousr. Forget about it. The controls are so poorly calibrated that it's almost pointless and really just more frustrating. By the time you get even the slightest sense of how to maneuver it the battery will be spent. Finally the hope would be that in autonomous mode you could let it do it's thing. Yet I found it would rarely last 5 miutes before there's an alert that Mousr needs your help. It can find its way out of a paper bag. Seriously, the way I was impressed with my Xiaomi Roborock vaccum to navigate itself around anything I had really high hopes. I think part of the problem that because Mousr is so small it limits potential to put a decent battery in it as well as navigation and sensing software. I planned on wrapping this for Christmas but wanted to see how well it opperates first. I'm glad I did because I think it would have been a big disappointment. They came close but missed unless you might get one for a third of the price. Otherwise your better off duct tapping a cat toy to a remote controlled car & playing that way. Looks like I'll be returning this one.
