My MacBook Pro internal screen ceased working so I wanted a replacement to turn it into a desktop machine so I could continue to use the machine. I have it hooked up in 3840x2160 (4K) under macOS Catalina and I'll be honest it's really bright, sharp and vibrant, I'm guessing in part due to the fact the panel is LED based not LCD based which is more common. I originally found my display adapter dongle not capable of handling 4K60 (a fault of the adapter, not the monitor or the MacBook).I'm not going to say it's perfect - viewing angle could be wider for example - but I don't see any dead pixels, it has two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort input, the latter of which is _very_ rare in this price range as is the fact it supports FreeSync which is a AMD branded name for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) more commonly seen on high end displays. It also sports a menu system which surprisingly logical to use and requires very little tweaking to achieve a great result, with deeper options I didn't expect like adjustment for blue levels (useful at night), white balance and black level. The stand even allows the display to be tilted around if you want to run it in portrait mode.I've even tried hooking up an Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and OSMC Vero 4K (two games consoles and a media streamer, basically) to test out the 4K60 performance and it is respectable across the board - deep colours, blacks don't crush as badly as I expected and text is very sharp to read. Very good contrast and brightness especially considering it's 300 nits rated and non-HDR.Basically this is a lot of display for not a lot of money (I paid £60 but the new price is still more than reasonable) and performs insanely well.
