My assumption was based on the advertised "2 gigabit" speed, but from what I can tell, that number is a complete fabrication; its only relationship to reality is that you can plug 2 devices which each have a gigabit network port into the downstream half of the bridge. **Q: I have a shop 500' from my router but but still share a common electrical panel, will the signal reach that far?** A: Hi Richard. According to specs on the TP-Link website, the effective range is "300 meters in house". So your 500 feet should be covered OK, but not sure whether the "in house" phrase disqualifies your separate shop building.
