I was a little hesitant to buy this, because when you're dealing with dog pee there are really no guarantees. We have a tiny pad-trained chihuahua rescue who we've been unable to get to go outside. We live in the city and it's too noisy and scary for her, no matter how many things we try. Inside, we'd been using a plastic tray with normal pads, but she would only go on them once each, twice if we were lucky. We were going through about 3 or 4 huge pads every day, plus tons of paper towels because she'd always miss. We have gotten it down to a science with Brilliant Pad, so there are virtually no misses. It is raised off the ground, making it harder for her to miss/pee while walking. She knows to look for pads and Brilliant Pad is smooth, so I place a little square of paper towel onto the pad, which she innately knows to aim for. We place it on the side that is close to the power/where the pad disappears, so we are able to roll away only a few inches each time she goes. We only go through a full length of the pad about every day. It is so much easier, so much less waste, and virtually no smell or cleanup. I can see how larger dogs or puppies might have issues getting used to it, but it couldn't be more perfect for our little adult chi.

So glad I purchased the Brilliant Pad! I have two tiny dogs who were paper trained, but I still had to pick up the used paper to discard it. And I put pads underneath to keep them from leaking which had to be washed. Disgusting! I simply put their pads on the Brilliant Pad for a month so both dogs could get used to it. And voila! They are now using the Brilliant Pad without any problem. So convenient and easy to replace the rolls. No smell and I keep it in my bathroom. I recently bought a second one for the main area of the house in case I forget and close my bathroom door. This is such a timesaver, and I don’t have to deal with the smell or the mess anymore. Highly recommended. I can’t say enough good things.

I really wanted to like this pad , but in order for it to truly work there’s much improvement needed. I gave it only one star because it failed to do what it’s intended for. First of all, I have three miniature dogs. They were already pad trained so that was not an issue. The automatic feature has never really worked because when they jump up on the machine to do their business , the paper pushes away keeping the machine from rolling the paper in . Pee and poo accumulate underneath. I can never expect this to automatically clean and it never has. At first, I thought it was because I have 3 dogs. I trialed it alone with my smallest toy dog and she also pushed the paper aside keeping the machine from automatically changing the paper. My suggestion to the company is to have more tension on the roller keeping it from moving easily and to have grooves ( tracks) on either side where the paper roll ends can remain in tact. I still have this machine because admittedly I hate changing pads every day and since I’m a stay at home mom , I can manually touch the pad , clean under it and push the roller button. As other reviewers stated , I’ve never used a complete roll -another design flaw. If one had fully tested this product they would’ve realized poo takes up a lot of space. Either the rolled side needs to be larger or the paper roll should be smaller ( hopefully, charging less for the rolls). Bringing up another point - the paper roll replacements are expensive I spend more because I have 3 dogs using it. The stink when the roll is done is tremendous- I’m not sure there’s a way to remedy that. I take a trash bag hold my breath and stuff it in !

I bought this for my mini hotdog as I wanted an easy way to provide a clean and clear bathroom area for her whenever she had to go, this did not disappoint! The roller keeps the smell pretty contained, it’s not perfect, however I added an automatic deodorizer to spray the area every 30 minutes (dog friendly). Beats her doing her business and it sitting until I notice it or get home! Functions perfectly, I used it manually for 2 weeks, now set to automatic detection. The system is super easy to assemble, and it a pretty simple design. I get about a week to week and a half on one roll, and wouldn’t want that to be any longer. I sanitize the machine between roll swaps. I wish it was a little bigger, but for me it works great since the pad auto advances. A larger design would probably be a better seller for slightly bigger dogs, that’s my only star off. The braided cable is a great choice, and the simple system doesn’t give the dog much of a reason to try and mess with it. I recommend for miniature and teacup dogs, maybe a dog up to 15-20 pounds depending how good of a trainer you are. My hotdog learned in a day after I put a pad on top, then half a pad, then I keep a pad under the system. I definitely recommend buying the 8 rolls, the discount is superb and I don’t have to stress about running out and waiting for shipping. Definitely recommend if your tired of cleaning up pee pads! 4.5/5 (tested for 1 month now)

The pros of this start and end with the lack of needing to pick up pee pads daily. The cons are arguably worse depending on what your priorities are. This thing smells, I have a 13 year old poodle and her poop is horrendous. I had already figured that I’d need to conceal the smell, so I’ve placed a battery powered essential oil diffuser right on top of the control module for a constant stream of lemongrass to keep my place from smelling like a porter potty. It works well, without this I wouldn’t be able to deal with the stench. If the diffuser stopped working, I would tear my nose off my face. The pads are pricey. I spend an average of .40 cents a pad, .80 cents a day. This thing is set to roll after 3 pees & 1 poop, so it rolls about twice a day. Rolls last roughly 10 days for me with these settings. If I buy the bulk option of 8 rolls, it comes out to 1.50 a day. Basically double the price of traditional pads. My dog is old and has been potty trained for years. I didn’t need to do anything besides place this in her typical pee pad spot, she went right away. I imagine if i moved the pads it’s be more of an issue, but I anticipated a smooth transition and it was exactly that. I’m extremely lazy and not often home, so the price of not having to change those pads is ok for me. The essential oils mask the smell. It is technically better for the environment, if that’s something you care deeply for. The product does what it’s intended to do, so I will keep it, but I’m far from singing it’s praise.

I have a very small 7 pound pomeranian and she does great with it. She used pads before so I just put them on top of the brilliant pad and after she went a few times on them took the old pads away and she went right on the brilliant pad. I made sure to treat her and now she loves to go on it so transition was a breeze. I love that the app sends the pictures and allows me to see what she has done on the pad and even cure little pictures of her preparing to go sometimes 😊 ... I love that it seems like the app is improving as I see a beta version that allows you to program the roll to roll itself up after 1,2,3,4, or 5 pee events, or 1,2,3,4, or 5 💩 poo events. That is awesome but it does still need some work because it doesn't seem to be doing that correctly just yet but im sure that's why it's still a beta version. Can't wait until they get this part to work properly because that is a very nice feature. I haven't noticed any smells so far which is great and why I wanted it. Literally my only real complaint would be that when it takes photos at night in dim light you can't really see anything. Adding an infrared light can correct this so maybe that will be coming on the product in future 🤷‍♀️ but the hands off, no smell, no leaking, easy cleaning and having control over when I want to advance the roll or look in on the roll is just awesome... my life has already gotten better 😌 thank you creators

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I am so pleased with this product. My dogs had to get used to it but now it is so clean and my house doesn't smell like the grass pee pads anymore so I do not have to mop the area everyday or clean a grass pee pad constantly. Life is so much easier.

I have been using the Brilliant Pad for well over a year now and I absolutely love it! My dog was previously using a potty pad holder that had a grated top, which would get disgusting and I'd be stuck cleaning it outside. Now, I just roll it up! My fur baby has more space for going potty too, which leads to less 'misses' on my floor next to the potty. I just give it a good disinfecting when I change out the roll and that's it! Some people have commented that sometimes the roll mechanic is slower at times than others. This is simply because when a roll is new, it is wrapping around a smaller diameter rod, requiring more rotations to pull the pad. When the roll is half way or mostly used, the pad is wrapping around a wider diameter rod, allowing the pad to pull more quickly. The product works, fine. It's physics that's to blame. ;) As a side note, my shih tzu was very ill for about a week, with gastrointestinal issues. The Brilliant Pad really helped me keep things clean when things were...let's just say...very messy.
