It is not strong enough. No Ivy roots would totally stop it up. This is only strong enough to cut through soft dirt. **Q: i have 2 snow joe 4ah batteries from my snow blower. will they work on this tiller?** A: I had the same question. Answer is "possibly" if your 4ah batteries are for the 24V snow joe. Go look at page 16 in the user manual (a link to the pdf is in the listing or at this URL https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/B1gqqyQjcQS.pdf) for the various batteries in the Sun Joe/Snow Joe 24V family that the manual says are compatible. **Q: Is there a warranty** A: Yes .... the warranty for failure due to a defect in material or workmanship or as a result of normal wear and tear from ordinary use. The warranty period is two years with an extra 90 days if you register on-line **Q: Will this work to cut up and get rid of bamboo roots?** A: No, I don't believe it would do that job. I use it to till beds that are already clear of sod. It's a good machine, but won't get through really tough stuff. ## Customer Reviews ### ā­ā­ā­ā­ā­ Lightweight build quality, but up to the task for between plant cultivating/mixing *by C***T on May 29, 2023* While I would certainly not attempt to use this as a tiller, it works well as a cultivator. The compact size makes it perfect for cultivating between plants in the garden. Having a single tine allows me to get close to the plant, and the lightweight nature allows for good control so there's no damage. It is also great for mixing the soil when top dressing plants. It's far easier to use than my corded tiller for cultivating.The build quality is pretty lightweight. It can handle the occasional small rock, but I wouldn't bet on it being able to survive hitting a large rock. The same for hard soil -- it does not have anywhere close to the heft or power to last long or do a good job. I would have preferred a design where the tine rotates slower and with more torque (or even an adjustable tine speed) but you can't have everything.The length is fine when fully extended so I don't have to stoop when using it (I'm 6 foot 2). A bit longer would have been nice, but it's fine as-is. The tine has been holding up fine and, since there's only one of them, it's a breeze to clean out any clumps or windings.It's way easier on my back than using a hoe, far more nimble than even a compact tiller, and the battery life has been very good. I can't speak to the longevity of it as of yet, but so far it's been a 4.5 star performer for the purposes I use it for. ### ā­ā­ā­ā­ Not bad for the money. *by S***F on April 20, 2023* I was looking for something to use to turn over some bare areas in my yard so I could plant some grass seed. After reading the reviews on this and considering there isn't much more out there like it I decided to go ahead and order it. When I received it, the blade was bent at the hub. I had to remove it and used a hammer to flatten it out. Not a big deal but could have been packed better. I tried it in several areas of my yard and was impressed with how well it performed in areas that were moist and soft. It turned the ground over and did a nice job. As far as its performance in the dryer areas, that's a different story. I had to press down hard to get it to bite into the ground. Even though it did break up some of the dirt it really didn't want to dig in. This isn't made for that type of work. I had to go back to my old way of using a shovel to break the ground loose. Overall, for use in a flower bed or small garden this will work great.
