mine has a yellow socket head on the board which is annoying as that means you need to add headers to the rpi

Q: How do i connect this to google assistant. i can get it setup and i can hear noise around me but i hear nothing when i try the google audio tests?

Try an older version of raspbian without doing the updates, a lot of the old tutorials were broken when the OS gets updated
