It never gets old and, like the Bible, I find something new when I read these prayers. This book is one of my "must have" devotionals. It was a rock to cling to during years of the pandemic, political turmoil, continued problems such as mass shootings (according to Congressman Jamie Raskin's research and other sources, in the US more children die from gun violence than any other cause), misplaced trust in politicians, and dealing with the "anniversary stress" of loss of loved ones. He quietly mentions his political views without trying to offend anyone while also acknowledging the problems caused by political division. It seems like Scotty is talking directly to me and many of his gospel insanity problems are ones I have, too. Even when he prays about issues I have not been involved in, I get reminded of my own issues and I can apply his lamentations and his realizations about putting it all in God's hands to my own situation. Scotty Smith talks to the Holy Trinity like they are good friends, which, of course They are. The prayers are heartfelt, gospel based, have vivid discussions about personal and worldwide issues, show compassion, ability to admit lapses in gospel sanity, humble, able to to find the sacred AND the humor in situations, and covers all the range of human emotions. Scotty, whom I feel is also my friend and support, prays with such passion and without formality. Reading about the events that spurred these prayers shows his compassion, his sadness and frustration when things don't go right, and his trust that God the Father, Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are always working to further Their divine purpose and plan, both in his life and in all of God's children. After reading his blog and daily prayers, I wanted to go back in time and buy this book. Even though they were written years ago, every word still holds true. Such a gift for me every day. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Scotty Smith has a beautifully vulnerable and transparent way of expressing himself *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 11, 2015* Everyday Prayers, by Scotty Smith has turned out to be among my most cherished books. I purchased it for my Kindle Fire in December, 2014. I am absolutely THRILLED with the prayers contained therein, and find myself praying along with the author and personalizing the prayers for my own particular situation. The reason I only gave it 4 stars has nothing to do with the content or style of the author. Scotty Smith has a beautifully vulnerable and transparent way of expressing himself. The fault I find is that this book does not work well on my kindle. When I attempt to "turn" the pages, it may work for a few seconds, but then decides to close down on me. This is utterly frustrating and very disappointing to me. I have no issues with turning the pages in any of the other books downloaded onto my Kindle. In fact I spent a considerable amount of time with the Kindle tech people, deleting this book and having it re-downloaded, only to find the same issue. I can only assume that there is something amiss in the Kindle version of this book, and NOT with my device.
