This is the specific brand I buy for the women in my life. Bought one for my mom, my sister, my girlfriend, and 4 exes, and it’s only been used on me once that’s only a regret rate of 14.2% highly recommended! It does burn, shoots pretty far, still effective you even if they only hit the side of your face, will stain your face, clothes and even your white car until you use actual soap to clean it. Makes it impossible to drive away or call the cops but ALSO leaves some green residue on your hand if your not careful and you can get locked up for assault like you deserve (if you’re the aggressor) Oh and it’s easy to uses and won’t go off in your bag because of the top flip cap design

I bought this for my girlfriend after the local pimp offered her a job. (Nice to know one has options in this economy.) She lives in the part of Hollywood that they DON'T put in the movies. She gets more attention than one would like in the rough part of town, and when she comes home late at night I worry about her. Fortunately she hasn't needed it yet. I'm not exactly sure how to review a product we haven't technically used, but here goes. Pros: The can is solid and reassuring. The cap is designed in such a way that it would be EXTREMELY difficult to accidentally spray yourself (a particularly critical feature for my clumsy girl.) Cons: I didn't realize the 3oz size would be so large. It's definitely not keychain-size. It's not even purse size unless you carry one of those bags large enough to be a horse's feed-sack. Get the 1.5oz size unless you intend to go all "Lt. Pike" on some students or something. Because of its size, the 3oz just sits on the bed-side stand, which is probably much less useful given she's already home safe by the time it's within reach. The design was super cool in 1985. Fortunately this is not likely to affect the product's effectiveness. Other thoughts: Fox Labs claims this is something like three times the heat level of other consumer-grade pepper sprays. I'm not sure how important this is. I imagine once you cross the "hotter than hell" line, extra hot-points aren't particularly meaningful.

Read the dimensions carefully. I did and knew this was a larger unit, but just a warning to those who might need to hear it. This is a bigger can than say the pocket Sabre or Pom. However, it has mean green dye and a fast safety. I bought 2 and so far have not needed but I feel safer having it. Not the HOTTEST of the Fox line, so if you want higher heat on the scale research their line up. I wanted the hulk green dye. Good luck finding a concealed case to carry this. I never found one I liked so came up with a method that works for me. Would have 5 stars if they sold compact carry case for this. Its an oddball size so be careful making the purchase.

This is what I trained with and carried while on duty in Law Enforcement. I can tell you after getting hit in the eyes/face myself, and using it on others, FOX pepper spray is extremely effective at incapacitating a person if they are hit in the eyes/face. I still carry FOX on duty, while working security.

I trust my fiances life to fox lab products and they haven't let us down and we've had several encounters. The one tip to all who use would be make sure you have the flip top as no accidental sprays which is important since you're counting on the propellant being there to protect you. We particularly like the green dye as it makes them easier to find for cops. The only drawback is they don't have the same sizes as the other original formula so we actually buy the small size of this and the slightly larger size as a backup. Keep in mind that if you discharge the product you should be buying a replacement immediately so that you know everything is in working order. My fiance had the product fail once because he had used it previously a couple months before but didn't buy a new one and the propellant that was left wasn't enough so it died halfway thru the attack. That's not a draw back of this product specifically this is a drawback on ANY pepperspray is that you're counting on this badboy to be there when you need it. We also recommend the stream versus fog because you want the attacker taken out immediately and that means more to the face is better the stream does that very well. If you've never used pepperspray before you may want to consider buying an inert practice canister to fully grasp how it's going to spray out. You don't think of these things till you need it and as with any weapon you need to learn how to use it effectively.
