It has helped my mother. **Q: Does this contain lanolin? I'm looking for one that doesn't. It says fragrance free if that's so then it's not an issue.** A: Says fragrance free and there is no artificial fragrance listed on the ingredients, however there is a slight scent to it and to me, doesn't smell of raw unprocessed coconut oil. It's almost like a faint perfume-y smell - not awful but you smell something. I bought this to try to lock in moisture on my 5 yo's very dry eczema prone skin. The other we use that definitely has zero fragrance or lanolin is Sween Cream "Once a Day Moisturizing Cream". That one has a high dimethicone % as active ingredient and comes in a tube. I'm an esthetician and have tried homemade products including those with healing essential oils but when their skin is angry and red the Sween Cream seems to be the least reactive and keeps him moisturized. The fragile skin on the tail bone area starts breaking down** A: I'm assuming that you have pressure sores (i.e., bed sores). I don't know your situation and how much you sit during the day, or if you are under a doctor's care. I can only answer from personal experience. When I was in rehab after hip replacement surgery, I had pressure sores, and the nurses applied cream. I don't know what kind. However, when I got home, I used Carillon cream at the recommendation of a nurse friend with excellent results. I might also suggest egg crate cushions. I bought two for two places where I sit a lot, and they help to keep pressure off of that fragile skin on the tail bone area. Carillon cream and egg care cushions are wonderful for the usual pressure sores. However, if you have not done so already, I recommend that you consult a doctor because pressure sores can become open wounds if not taken care of properly. Good luck.
