Merrell Men's Moab 2 Mid Tactical Waterproof Military Boot – A Game-Changer for Impossible Feet
I’ve had the privilege of owning three pairs of Merrell Men’s Moab 2 Mid Tactical Waterproof Military Boots in size 10, and these boots have been nothing short of a godsend for my notoriously difficult feet. To put it simply, it’s incredibly hard for me to find shoes or boots that don’t cause discomfort or pain right from the first wear. In fact, Merrell, along with one other brand, are the only ones that consistently deliver the comfort I need without any issues. The most impressive part about this particular pair is how comfortable they are straight out of the box. Yes, there’s always a bit of stiffness to work through, but for me, these boots almost feel broken in already—which is a rare, almost impossible feat when it comes to footwear for my feet. The first wear is incredibly smooth, and I don’t feel like I'm fighting through discomfort to break them in. Durability is another strong point. My last pair of Moab 2s lasted two full years of regular use and are still holding up, albeit quite worn. They’ve proven to be tough, reliable, and able to withstand quite a bit of wear and tear, which I appreciate since finding a boot that lasts and stays comfortable is no small feat. I would wholeheartedly recommend these boots to anyone with similar foot issues or anyone who’s on the hunt for boots that are both comfortable from the get-go and built to last. Whether you’re using them for tactical purposes, outdoor activities, or everyday wear, Merrell hits the mark every time.

Fit and comfort
I never write reviews, but this boot is unbelievable. To start when you first put them on they take some time getting used to. If you get your correct size they fit perfect to your foot with great ankle support. The arch support is what takes some getting used. It’s somewhat high but extremely comfortable. I’m on my feet all day, 8-12 hours and after the first hour or two of breaking them in, this is hands down the most comfortable work shoe I’ve ever had. For me it is everything you could ask for in work or hiking boot. Zero discomfort after breaking them in, sturdy with great ankle and arch support while being on my feet and constantly moving all day. I would highly recommend this boot.

Simply The Best MOAB Avaliable
When I was shopping this Fall or new multipurpose boots that would serve me in more than just the cold season, I already knew Merrell was a stellar line. I bought my wife some low-rise MOABs last year that she used on her postal service rounds for months, and I've purchased other Merrell shoes for me in the past. I knew Merrell meant quality, but as one never to settle for what was on the rack, I shopped around for a while. I considered the Gore-Tex models, checked out other boots in the Merrell line, and also some competitors (Vasque, etc). When I found that Merrell offered their midrise boot in a tactical, I was smitten immediately. You see, I'm no outdoors man. I'm not one to want to look like I'm ready for a hike, or to hunt or anything like that. I'm more of a city guy. With that said, I know quality, and I know that tactical boots have to be made for the unknown variables that the wearer may face. These MOAB Tacticals are meant for police, SWAT and servicemen. That's some serious stuff. The main difference between the Tacticals, the Waterproof and Gore-Tex models is the material, not the build. In all MOABs you'll get a generous heel cradle, ample toe box and great arch support. The Tacticals up the game not only with a totally stealth black (or Brindle, or Tan) colorway, you get the exclusive advantage of material that won't allow in sand, grit or debris. The Gore-Tex models can't say that, nor can the waterproofs. I can stick my boot in the sand, in grit, in water, in ankle-high mud, in oil, have glass shatter and fall on it (that happened last night), and all I have to do is take a hose to it and boom; clean. No gunk seeping into the nooks and crannies, no sand forever in the toe material, nada. With the MOAB Tacticals, you an get out-of-the-box fresh look every day. And hey, you can use boot wax to make the blacks blacker, too. I have plantar fasciitis and a weak left ankle. These mids help with both issues (as well as an orthotic I use from time to time.) When you want a boot that's even better than the best MOAB model you've ever seen, pic the Tacticals. If you're lucky enough to find them in stock....!!!

Almost
LIKES- fits very very well, toe guard helps protect from wear on the front of the shoe, warm, shoe is flexible, no need for break in period, as advertised as a tactical boot the sole gives good feedback to user, very comfortable for long term wearing, laces are very well made and lace holes are positioned well for foot support, awesome traction in dirt wet or dry with light gravel or gravel only depending on gravel size DISLIKES- the vibram sole is very slippery on smooth surfaces when wet and may not be good in tactical situations as there are many types ground a tactical boot may encounter. I've only worn them a couple times, lots of running using them in tactical training on standard mountain type soil dirt/some gravel and have noticed much more wear then expected to the sole for only a couple uses at about 6 hrs each time, It's safe to say for tactical use in my opinion that these may not have a life expectancy as expected from a tactical boot. Overall, I don't know how satisfied I am YET.. will update after more use

I’ve previously owned 5.11 and Black Hawk tactical shoes for regular walks and trekking. These Merrell shoes are well-designed and built for purpose too.

Good quality, solid, comfy as normal moab2 boots. For everyday work/range or hiking/light backpacking trekking. Very military look, mid ones the best imho, flexible and stable. I suggest not to be used for mountains, lots of better brands for that specific scenario. Color suits standard coyote gear (condor, mil-tec, etc).
